The device is most likely a counterfeit but it programs just fine.

This thing works great, five stars for the hardware. But definitely be aware that MPLAB X / MPLAB IPE v6.25 (current version) does NOT support the PICkit3. I am using PICkitminus and it's all good. Just search for that on GitHub.

This worked perfectly for my application. No issues or trouble. I too am upgrading the servo firmware for my Losmandy Gemini Mount. I had to make my own custom cable, but it worked out fine. Thanks to the other reviewer for mentioning that this works with the Gemini!!!
