What are these meant to do exactly?

Basically, it smoothes hand motion, and helps with screen smudging. It does NOT help with touchscreen/androids/ipads, nor was it marketed for that. You may be able to double up the glove, but ill say it again. It doesnt stop your touchscreen from working, it helps with more fluent hand movement and helps so your hand doesnt smudge on the screen.

Will this make any tablet not feel or sense your hand when you place it on the screen?

The tablet will still sense your hand with the glove on. Most drawing tablets will ignore your hand while using the pen. This glove just helps you to not make the screen dirty while you draw. I use it on a Microsoft surface and it helps a lot when drawing/designing
