If you're new to straight razor shaving, try starting out with the shark brand, they're more forgiving and hold their edge longer. The derbys are just to sharp and thin therefore losing their edge quicker and slicing skin a lot faster.

I got this to try straight razor. It came with Derby half blades. I watched some videos you just have to go slow the first time getting the right angle. I shave a couple of times but gave it up for a while it cut me up pretty well. I think it would be a good razor for you head. Hope I was some help to you.
