PURINA Pro Plan Optistart Chicken Large Athletic Puppy Dry Food - 3KG

We have a Great Dane puppy cross who have delicate stomachs. Hoped this would do the trick but gave her the worst diarrhoea i've ever seen. She was happy to eat it though but have given up and switched brands - really disappointing.

Poor quality food , first 5 ingredients you should look for are rubbish. Just used this as breader was giving him this.

Purina Pro Plan for Large Atheltic Puppy ( 25 kg plus)Its a dry biscuit dog food. Each piece is a bout the size of a 5p piece. I didn't have a puppy to test the product on but I mixed in with our normal adult dog food which has a slightly larger biscuit. My dog really enjoyed this product and after 2 weeks has not had any noticeable changes to his toilets/ weight etc.This includes OPTI Nutrition the most advanced and efficient combinations of nutrients and there is very detailed information provided on the amazon product information.Not really happy with this list of ingredients though;composition; 17% chicken, dehydrated poultry protein, wheat , rice (9%), gluten , soya meal, maize, animal fat. I think the first four ingredients should display there percentage for clarity. But is really all very confusing in general with all dry food. The packaging speaks quality and its easy to be seduced by this. Its very hard to say whether I think this is a good puppy food for this reason.First ingredient 17% chicken is quite low. Dehydrated poultry protein the second ingredient is a low quality product of unidentifiable origin. Maybe a poultry by product and the quality of this is really uncertain.Water can be added to begin which can then gradually be reduced.
