disappointing
Terrible illustration and not a great story

Sounds funny.......
There are two things that I’ve learned during the past 6 years of reading kids books. #1 - awards are given to books that are most popular with adults, not books that are most popular with kids. #2 - kids couldn’t give two licks about how many medals a book has on its cover. My son hated this book. We read it once, and since then, I’ve asked him if we could read it together, but he says no every time. He would rather re-read his Minerva Louise book for the hundreth time. And I must say that I’m not particularly keen on the book either. The illustrations are downright creepy. All the people look like jaundiced zombies. This book will sit on our shelf for 6 months, and then I’ll send it off to the Salvation Army or recycling bin or something.

Laughter is a great side effect when reading about Walter's problem. Hilarious!!
Hilarious!! This book about Walter's farting, brought one of my patients who felt he had very little to look forward to after a near fatal accident, left us both in hysterical laughter as I attempted to read the book to him. So naturally I had to buy this funny book for my grandsons who are completely into bodily sounds at 8 and 10. I thought it my grandmotherly duty and all, and I tucked in a fart whistle to torment their parents with for a while.

Terrible book for children.
Horrible book. It lacks any humor. Furthermore, it has a scene with home burglars who wrap a towel around the snout of the dog. Who puts that in a children’s book with pictures to accompany it? My children were mortified. I didn’t bother returning it, I threw it in the trash where it belongs.

Kids love this!
As a grandma I was initially appalled at subject matter when I first chanced upon this book st the library many years ago. BUT kids love it and what better way to encourage youngsters to read than to give them something they enjoy/interested in. So now buying this for 5 yr old great grandson who absolutely loved a farting toy he received last yr from his aunt (asked her for another one when sound died). Found a carting dog that looks just like Walter to go along w book.

Robbery?
This book talkes about burglars coming to rob the families house. I don’t like to scare my kids so for me this book raised too many questions/concerns to negate the laugh about the farting dog.
