Ive been an electrical engineer for over 20 years yet iv'e never owned a crimping set until now.This is built to a very high standard, just done a detachable headphone cable with it and it worked first time, there are a nice selection of JST connectors in the box, 2,3,4 and 5 pin typesOf course you can buy a ton of other types for this crimper, including SATA/Molex PSU and audio connector blocks that will work with this.This will come in handy for my home built mini hifi that im working on, for custom PC builders this tool is a must to do things fully custom, just wished amazon didnt put a big sticker on the box that ripped it lol.The included wire stripper is very high quality too, theyre razor sharp so watch your fingers!The wire stripper also cuts upto M3 bolts also house mains cable (the circle in the center of the cutters)this kit makes light work of making custom cables there are so many possibilities here.I highly recommend this kit 10/10 from me.

Really good useful bit of kit to have. Will be well used very soon, so I'm grateful it comes in a sturdy storage/carry case.

I bought this set primarily to get the crimping tool to be able to crimp JST-X_ connectors properly - the tool does a fantastic job with JST-XH and JST-XP connectors, and has two slots for wire gauges 20-24 and 26-28.The crimping tool itself is sturdy, and seems like it will be more than adequate for my use (hobbyist). The box is well organised, arrived well packaged and contains a ton of JST-XH connectors, which will be more than enough for most people! I strongly recommend buying this set even if you just need the tool and a few connectors - at the price, it represents very good value, and the box keeps all the connectors organized.Delivery was earlier than expected, which was nice too!

Just to prove that I am not all about negative reviews, I thought it might be nice to rate this kit as a professional looking into amateur kit.This kit is presented in a sturdy case and has all the terminals and associated parts within. The crimp toll is cleverly contained in the upper level.Unlike the crimp tool and terminals in my last review, this system has been clearly thought through. The crimp tool is a delight to use and actually does what it is meant to do, crimp terminals!The terminals and housings are good quality and are fit for purpose. I do wonder where I can get the replacement crimps from in the future however.I have used this to make custom looms for my Arduino project and am very happy with the results.In a word, recommended.

Really nicely made set. The tools seem of excellent quality. Decent instructions to help learn how to use them too.The only minor niggle was a lack of DuPont style pins compared to the generous number of female ones and JST connections, but not worth knock a star off for, I'll just buy more when I need them.

A very good crimping tool, with clear instructions and a lot of crimps and shells. Great value for money if you need both.As long as you use the appropriate gauge of wire and the correct notch on the tool you should get strong crimps that make a good connection every time.

I was reluctant to spend the money at first but after struggling to make good crimps with a pair of pliers this tool is going to save so much time. Good value too as it comes with a number of crimps and housings, all in a handy case. It feels like a quality tool and makes crimping my JST connectors quick and simple. It proved a little difficult to get the crimp and wire positioned in the jaws initially as they are so small and fiddly but when I mastered it my very first crimp was perfect - professional looking with both wire and insulation held securely.Update: As I already said, tool works well and connectors were all that I needed but I now realise that, contrary to the claim and picture on the box, it does not contain male crips or housings for them just male pcb sockets and female crimps/hosings

I have had a number of similar crimping pliers over a number of years all of which have not really been up to the job or very successful. I have used the tool with the crimps that it comes with and other 2.5mm style of crimps and it is fantastic.The crimp is secure, it looks great and the pins have not been deformed so much that you can't fit them in the connector.I cannot comment on the longevity of these and they are cheap, however I think they should be good enough for hobby use and occasional repairs.
