Birthday Stories: Selected and Introduced by Haruki Murakami

Being a Murakami lover, I had to have this book. Finished it in one sitting, and boy oh boy, I loved it. And yes, I would read it on my next birthday.

Ich lese sehr gerne alles von Murakami, dieses Buch hat mir aber nicht so gut gefallen, wie seine anderen Werke. Manche Geschichten sind spannend und man kann sie in einem Zug lesen, andere ziehen sich in die Länge. Allerdings ist das Buch ein schöner Anreiz, um darüber nachzudenken, was es für einen bedeutet, älter zu werden.

Amo molto Murakami e ho ceduto al design accattivante della copertina per farmi un auto-regalo di compleanno, ma non mi ha soddisfatta. Le storie legate ai compleanni sono scelte da lui ma quasi nessuna mi ha davvero coinvolta (men che meno quella scritta da Murakami stesso) come speravo.

It is a great Murakami's compilation of stories with a birthday theme in each of them. And the book is finished with a very nice story by Murakami himself. I also consider this book a great birthday present for someone who still reads the books....

どの作品も英語なのに村上の文体を思わせる。短い作品ばかりだが気が利いていて読後感がよい。活字が大きく乗り物の中でも読める。
