Q: Could this be used to mount a standard flag pole to my deck railing? I believe the clamp would work, but would the pole holder hold a flagpole?

I don't see why it couldn't but you would have to put a screw in to hold the flag pole in one place otherwise it will keep sliding.

Q: max clamp opening says 4.75 in opening info but says1.97in in product description please advise

looks like the RH20 model is 1.97 and the RH30 model is 4.75

Q: Can these be adjusted to point vertically? I want to clamp to a board in my roll around cart.

One was able to go vertical however the other one ... I couldn’t get the screw to screw in the hole. It was very difficult.

Q: Does it work on a pontton?

I would say yes, depending on the thickness of the top lip of your walls around. I had to make a few stationary brackets for my bass boat because they fit over the lip of the boat. Those screws comes out to 4" I believe and the lip at the top of my boat was 4 1/2".
