I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It kept my interest through the entire story and I couldn’t put it down. This is the second book that I’ve read by Bonnie Kistler, I am onto my third. I highly recommend her books

“House on Fire” by author Bonnie Kistler was a woeful tale about a happily blended family that implodes when faced with tragedy. All families, whether blended or not, live through defining moments where choices are made for the better good or for the bad of the family unit. I enjoyed the story very much, although I felt some of the secondary storylines were unbelievable. It’s too bad the author felt the need for the silly subplots because she had a strong story if she had only stuck to the family dynamics. However, I spent one sleepless night finishing this book because I had to know the ending. This book captures you at the start. It took a few more turns than I could appreciate but finished with a satisfying end.

This novel kept me engrossed from start to finish. I feel the author realistically captured how tragedy and differences in grieving can fracture a marriage. This would make a great book club selection.

Great read about the dynamics of the modern family and the ties that bring them together and apart
