Husband was happy
We recently moved to a farm with a front yard fulllllll of pecan trees. I got this for my husband and he spent hours "rolling" up the pecans for us to enjoy.

Just Like Vacuuming The Nuts Off The Lawn!
For decades my husband and I have raked and hand picked up endless nuts off our lawn from a neighbor's trees. Aging has now made it impossible for us to rake for endless hours and get on our hands and knees hand picking these nuts that the rake just doesn't pick up. My back, knees and wrists were hurting so bad the last couple of years, that I decided to see if there were any products available to help with getting these nuts off the lawn. These acorns and larger nuts are heavy when bagged!I saw a few different brands of these long handled basket nut gatherer's on Amazon (my garden center had none!) and decided to try this Garden Weasel 95306 Weasel Nut Gatherer. As soon as it arrived, I tried it out immediately. I filled up a half a basket in a few minutes! I wish I had looked for this years ago! What a back, knee, wrist and time saver! This Garden Weasel Nut Gatherer is 4 feet long- the handle alone is 39" long, and both my husband and I being tall (he is 6 feet), we had no backaches at all as there is only slight bending. The basket tines have spaces from 1/8" to 1/4", and we found some of the nuts on our lawn are 1/4", and do fall through the tines. Any nuts larger than 1/4" stayed in the basket. We found the way you roll the basket is the secret to your success in picking up the nuts. For nuts larger than 1/4" to under an inch, we went back and forth very quickly in short strokes with a very light pressure and it picks them all up. For nuts 1 inch to under 2 inches, we used a back and forth motion from slow to fast but with a little harder pressure and it picks up everything. None of our nuts are over 2 inches, so I can't comment on really large nuts. You have to practice on the speed and pressure to see what works for you. We found these short strokes, speeds and pressures work perfectly, leaving nothing behind!I found it best to empty the basket when it is half full, as when you roll over large nuts, a tiny one could fall out through the larger space on the tines. However, we found that the fast back and forth motion in short strokes and experimenting with speed and pressure didn't leave the nuts fall through. Even though Garden Weasel says this Nut Gatherer is weather and rust resistant, I store this in the basement, as being made of steel with a chrome covering, I don't want the dampness of the outdoors to wear off the chrome. This is very well made and looks like it will work for many years as long as I keep it from rusting. It's easy to empty, you just hold it over a garbage can or bag, open the tines in the middle and shake out the nuts. This garden Weasel Nut Gatherer really works to save your back, knees, wrists and time, and when you figure out the fast short strokes and right amount of pressure to use on the different nuts, it actually feels like you are vacuuming up the nuts on your lawn! This is one yard tool I can't live without and is worth 5 plus Stars!

Worth the money
We use this to pick up pecans. It works great. It's light weight and so easy to push. After having 2 back surgeries, it's worth every penny when I don't have to bend over to pick up my pecans.

Purchased for NERF, and OH MY GOODNESS
I try to get on and review as much as I can. This item was one of the most highly anticipated orders I have made. My family waited ever so patiently for these to arrive, (we purchased two). We have a pecan tree in our back yard...No, this nut gatherer is not for that tree, rather for the million Nerf darts and Rival rounds we have around the house and now yard.We are a family new to Nerf battles, and the very first lesson learned is once you shoot, you have to stoop. We are all pretty physically fit, but none of us likes bending over all the time to pick up these stupid rounds...so we have tried all sorts of things, including purchasing a special cordless shop vac.The second this item came in, (about 20 minutes ago), I opened the package, threw a bunch of darts down on our wood floor, carpet and concrete driveway. I went a rolling... I am taking the time to review this for those few people who will look to this for Nerf and not nuts. My goodness this thing works like charm. We will be ordering 2 more so we can each have one to quickly pickup ammo. It is...amazing. The wire is very soft and did not scratch the floor, (granted I would not suggest you slam it on the ground hard, but gently rolling it over the ammo is all that is needed to pick up darts and rounds alike. Rounds are easy, any angle, up they go. Darts, just go at them in parallel to the wire and up they come. I found that while other items get picked up when rolling over the yard, they quickly come out. When I came back in with 45 darts and 45 rounds that I threw over the porch into the yard to simulate a battle, I dumped the contents into a sorting container and there was NO debris, dirt, leaves...nothing but Nerf.My only grip is that the handle does not adjust, perhaps to be come more portable and to adjust the height for the user, but really, this thing is amazing. The build quality is wonderful. For those of you collecting nuts, it works well, I tried that too, since we have a nut tree, but my intent was to simplify Nerf round pickup, and this thing is nothing less than amazing. Garden Weasel, paint this thing orange and blue, (I regret saying that actually because I cannot stand Auburn...ROLL TIDE), and market it to Nerf families. Get the word out.

Seems very well made and works decently for picking up crabapples
I bought this to pick up crabapples. In a nutshell (no pun intended): it works fairly well but not as well as it would on nuts. Crabapples vary in size and the small ones can fall out of the cage while rolling. Also if they're deep in grass they can be hard to capture. One major issue I've encountered is that many of the crabapples on the ground under the tree were dropped by squirrels who eat half and drop the other half - these half-spherical pieces won't get picked up by the Garden Weasel. This is a very well made tool. I'd expect it works very well for larger things.
