Accidentally left behind when his family rushes off on a Christmas vacation, eight-year-old Kevin McCallister (Macaulay Culkin) embarks on a hilarious, madcap mission to defend the family home when two bumbling burglars (Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern) try to break in--and find themselves tangled in Kevin’s bewildering battery of booby traps.

Excellent Christmas movie.
I can't remember when I saw the movie first but I bought the movie on a box set with Home alone 1 and Home Alone 2 in the box set. The boxset went to my Christmas movie collection which I only watch in december. Then I bought the movie on 1080P blu ray a few years ago. It was a nice upgrade but the picture seemed a bit darker than the DVD.Now I have this on 4K blu ray and its back to the DVD brightness but even better in HDR with some parts at 1000nits brightness. The picture is very sharp and the audio is much improved. Also when you buy the 5K blu ray you get an improved 1080p blu ray too which makes 4K blu ray much better value forpney than standard blu ray.I highly recommend this film for your Christmas movie collection. Let's hope they redo Home Alone 2 in 4K Blu Ray too.

WT * did I buy ????
I have all the new 4K equipment , TV , Player and lead ..... I’m enjoying the superior picture and sound ..... this film is supposedly region free ...... it made a horrible bass noise in the player ..... reloaded it , same again ..... produced a picture of very low quality (4K disc) .... I tried the Blu-ray Disc ...... it was better but not much ..... very poor quality ....... I paid £14.99 for this ..... I would normally expect to pay at least £19.99 ..... it is also on sale for £24 + ..... I think I got something very dodgy ....... Amazon refunded it ASAP .... thank you ! This item has good general reports ??? ......... maybe I was just unlucky ! Buyer beware .......... I think I’d enjoy the DVD much better ?

Product review - not the film
Disappointingly, the blu-ray release of this is the exact same release as the standard 2010 blu-ray release, with exactly the same "bonus" features. If you are buying this for the 4K version then great, but this is not a 30th anniversary release worthy of the name. What a missed opportunity.

Not any new '30th Anniversary' Features...
A good 4K movie, with Dolby Digital 5.1 audio, and 2160p resolution at 16x9 widescreen.also includes a blurry version of the classic film, but there isnt any 'new' features for the 30th Anniversary release... otherwise a great classic film.No digital download codes included. just the 2 discs.

Are you thirsty for
Always watched this film around Christmas time, but just because it’s a festive film, doesn’t stop me from watching it all year round. I was so glad this classic got a 4K UHD release in time for its 30th anniversary. The 4K makes all the difference, the colours are sharp and vibrant and is a great addition for the viewing experience.I’m hoping Home Alone 2 will get a 4K UHD release!
