Priddy Learning: My First 1000 Words: A Photographic Catalog of Baby's First Words

me gusta cómo está clasificado por tema, tiene muy buenas fotos y puede ayudar a mi peque a aprender nuevas palabras en inglés, lo malo es el uso de dibujos en lugar de fotos para algunos animales, comida, clima y lugares

We love this book.

I cannot say enough how amazing this book is. We're currently using it with our 2 year old (though our 3 and 5 year old also find it fun to look at; we regularly play "I Spy" using the book with them). The pages are made of a thicker cardstock paper and have a slight lamination/sheen to them, so they are incredibly durable. If you're familiar with the "My First 100 Words" series, this book is quite similar. The items on each picture are against a white background, and there is no overlap of images, which makes it really easy for kids to see every picture. The pictures are a mixture of real and drawn.The amount of topics covered is incredible: things we wear, my body, playtime, food we like, in my home, kitchen, backyard, things that grow, weather, party, sports we play, school, things that go, farm, jobs people do, birds, animals in the wild, beach, around the world, colors, storybook words, and more! Some of the topics have more than one page. For example "food we like," "farm," "fruits and vegetables," "colors," and "animals in the wild" all have at least four pages dedicated to the topic. The colors are engaging and super vibrant.Many of the topics have some incredible depth to them (see images). For example, having two pages devoted to birds allows for such animals as dove, puffin, kiwi, emu, macaw, and dove (which kids may not have much exposure to otherwise). The four pages of colors gets into unique colors as well (see image): jade, sage, plum, crimson, cornflower, etc.Again, I highly, HIGHLY recommend this book!

I really like the idea and set up, though unfortunately some pictures are drawn- even entire sets of pages/topics, such as weather, town and cities, people and occupations, and more. I really would like my child to be able to see real pictures, that is why many people buy the Priddy books to begin with.If they make an updated version with all real life pictures I would happily purchase again.

This book is so adorable. My 2 year old loves it!!! Definitely teaches him a bunch of words. Also has phrases, times and a lot of other extras. Definitely recommend this book to any parent looking to expand their child's vocabulary.
