The description was not adequate to inform the shopper. I have been searching for "small, wingless" hair clips. These looked like they could work, but although they are about 2" wide, they are very bulky and fall out of my hair almost immediately. I have short, fine hair. It's not thinning, but clips with large teeth (like these) fall right out. So, if you're looking for a clip that REALLY has a secure hold, keep looking.

Wanted smaller, wingless hair clasps. These indeed have wings.

Perfect for my need

I've had one of these babies for YEARS. It has never pulled my hair, or hurt my head at all. Not so much as one tooth has broken and I've been using it for a long time.It looks really good too! It doesn't draw an enormous amount of attention to itself, cause it's so smooth and round, and I like that. No ugly wings or weird jutting teeth here.I love this clip and would absolutely buy it again in a heartbeat, but obviously I haven't had to yet! :)

I am always searching for the perfect clip to hold up my hair & I have found it!!! MY hair is almost to my thighs, is also thick & it laughs at most clips. THIS ONE is so great, big enough (the large size) & teeth wide enough to hold my twisted up hair, also super strong. I also love that a spring does not show when you look at it. No hair pulling, it is perfect! Now it just needs to come in many colors please!
