Why is this card advertised as connecting via 4x lanes? the as media asm3142 chip that runs it only supports a 2x connection.

It's impossible to answer your question as stated. It depends on what bit-rate your cameras produce. 3* Red 8k cameras running at 4:2:2 no chance. 3 hd cameras with HEVC compression, you should be OK. To put it more plainly buy a specialist video ingest card(Black Magic, for instance), rather than a generic USB card I use this card to connect various high speed SD/Micro sd/CF card readers to. It works great for that, but generally only one card is being transferred at a time

Hi, just installed this on a win 10 pc. i’m getting slow speeds and device manager is not seeing it? any ideas?

It should show in the usb stack at the bottom as Renesas USB 3.0 extensible host controller (0.96 - Microsoft) Can you provide detail of PC? Motherboard cpu etc?
