StarTech USB-C Gigabit Ethernet Adapter, Thunderbolt 3/4, RJ45

Works for MacBook silicon generation (M), Speed and Latency are great.

This device has been working great for almost two years. It stopped working and I contacted the company for support. We were able to connect remotely. Installing the new drivers fixed everything, so there was nothing actually wrong with the device.

The chipset in this adapter has driver support in most systems that include USB type C. I've used it with Windows devices, multiple Linux distros, and Android smartphones and tablets. I've even used it on fresh Windows installs where the base OS didn't have drivers for the built-in networking but connected fine with this adapter! Should work fine with new Apple computers as well, but I don't know about support on their USB C mobile devices.

The Adapter works well for laptops without built-in nics. I had no problems pxe booting and deploying images after loading the drivers into my deployment system. However, as others have mentioned, the lack of led indicator lights would be a plus when experiencing connectivity issues to help rule out the adapter as the problem.

I'm using this to provide an additional Ethernet adapter to a Vmware virtual machine. No problems, it just works. I've used other Star Tech products in the past and have never had any issues with them.

The adapter is a great hack for devices, even PCs, when there is no physical ethernet port available. I do not use WIFI in my home, so this is vital to my hardwired network for connectivity. I use it daily and have NOT had any issues with the plug and play ability: Works great on my Amazon fires, Android phone, and a 10 year old Macbook Pro. Definitely worth the money.

Fits well, solid construction. You can be rough with it and it won’t break easily.

This works well for devices that need an ethernet adapter and have a USB C connector. I was able to use it successfully to connect an android phone running Android 11 with no issues or other software needed. It did NOT work work on a phone running Android 10.

However not received the Invoice

Fonctionne parfaitement avec la fibre. Seule petit bémol pour lequel je n'ai pas encore trouvé de solution : l'adaptateur se met off line quand on éteint l'ordinateur. Il faut le débrancher et le rebrancher du port usb-c et c'est bon au bout de quelques secondes.

De laptop van mijn vrouw, een HP 15-fc0751nd, is uitgerust met Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax). Werkt op zich prima in combinatie met onze Tp-Link Archer AX6000! Nu gaat ze thuiswerken en we hebben toch gekozen voor een bedrade optie, de kabels liggen er toch al, haar laptop vervangt de oudere pc die er eerst stond. Maar ja, haar nieuwe laptop heeft geen netwerk poort, een USB-C naar Ethernet adapter met snelheden tot 1000 Mpbs leek ons de beste oplossing. Dat werd dus deze, we hebben er geen moment spijt van gehad. Windows 11 herkende hem meteen en de speedtest was ook helemaal ok. De bouwkwaliteit is prima en de RJ45 kabel klikt er netjes in. Top Product!!
