I decided to write this book to save you time, money, and most importantly, pain. I was inspired to do this because I felt there was a major problem, or more specifically, something missing within the traditional medical model for back and neck pain. People end up searching for alternative treatments for back and neck pain often after conventional medical treatment has not worked or only temporarily eases the pain. There is a solution; I wish more people were aware that something can be done about back and neck pain and it doesnt have to (nor most times should it) include injections or surgery. The types of pain I am speaking of include:back pain, hip pain, pain in the buttocks, pain that shoots down the leg (also known as sciatica), foot pain, neck pain, shoulder pain, arm pain, and numbness and tingling in the arms or feet. This pain can be dull and achy or it can be sharp and shooting. It can even burn so badly that it feels like someone is sticking a hot poker directly into your body. The pain can range from mild to severe, to absolutely crippling, where the patient cannot stand, walk or lie down without excruciating pain. Most of the more severe pains can be attributed to problems of the spine, and more specifically to bulging, herniated and degenerated discs. The standard medical model has a very set protocol for treating these conditions but does not tackle the central problem, which is pressure on the nerves leading out of the spine, or pressure on the spinal cord itself. Very often the problem simply compounds, ultimately ending in surgery, which should only be considered as an absolute last resort. Typically, when it comes to herniated discs, bulging discs, sciatica, degenerative disc disease, and spinal stenosis, the medical model proceeds as follows: 1. Pain medication 2. Physical Therapy 3. Injections for pain management 4. Surgery In writing this book I am trying to bring attention to non-surgical spinal decompression therapy, which helps a staggeringly high percentage of patients who otherwise have, or would have, failed to improve using all other forms of conventional treatment. Spinal decompression therapy is often able to get patients completely better and back to one hundred percent and it involves no surgery or medication. Spinal decompression therapy offers a positive and permanent solution to pain stemming from pressure put on the nerves by bulges or herniations. It does this by gently and painlessly sucking the bulges or herniations back into the disc. The disc can then return it to its natural position and resume its proper function. I have treated thousands of patients and enabled them to obtain long term relief from crippling pain in their back, legs, neck, and arms through spinal decompression therapy. Before anyone with severe back or neck pain considers surgery, with all its associated risks and problems, they should have an examination with a doctor who specializes in spinal decompression therapy to find out if they are a candidate for this treatment.
