This cutter (utility knife) is branded.Stanley.!I have few Stanly tools.But this is bad.Cut anything else than paper,something harder,or stronger,and the blade goes in-out the housing.Dangerous,and useless.The blade stopper is plastic,and not really well designed.I wanted to buy a few,but NO WAY!

Build quality is really good for its price and the design looks good. The blade is sharp and slider is smooth when it works. It locks into place for whatever length of blade you choose to expose. However you have to press the slider handle down to unlock and retract it back in and this is where it doesn't always work. Sometimes I have to press harder to unlock and sometimes it unlocks after multiple attempts instead of the first try which gets a bit annoying. Besides this issue, it's a really good product for this price point from Stanley.
