your battery will drop in water very easy. I bought in March
Do not buy it, the battery bag is too small, it is not fit my battery, also the space for battery is too narrow, your battery will drop in water very easy. I bought in March, I just have no chance to use it until last week, but I found this issue, and I want to return it, it is brand new, even with the original pack box. but they denied.

Five Stars
Works great. Love it. Need a motor and battery now and you'll be all over the lake.

Overall good, small adjustments needed
Overall hubby was happy and is a good mount. However he didn’t have to make a little adjustments and smooth out some of the metal corners as not to gauge places in his kayak.

I really want to like this mount
First, I purchased the yak from Wal Mart, because they were out of stock at Amazon. The mount I purchased directly from Lifetime.I really want to like this mount, however, there are a couple of possible deal breakers. The first one is, the clip on the battery strap pops out when you tighten it too much. That's a major problem. Once while coming out of a lake, it popped loose and I lost my battery in the drink, luckily it was only about 2 feet deep, and I promptly retrieved it. So I tighten it as much as I "think" I can without it coming loose, and the whole time I worry that it will pop loose, and I'll lose the battery in much deeper water. The other problem is that the torque from the trolling motor cause the mount to shift back and forth when changing speeds, both up, and down. That, is gradually shaving away the plastic from the top of my yak by the mount. I'm near the point of drilling a couple of holes to put stainless steel bolts and nuts to prevent this, but, I thought I would give Lifetime a call, to see if they had a solution. Plus the fact that I really don't want to be drilling large diameter holes in my flotation device. I told them which kayak I had (the Sport Fisher) and that I had this motor mount. First they said that the mount wasn't designed for this particular yak, however, he had a possible solution. Which was to spread the pieces on either side of the clip. (Really?) Thinking I had made a horrible blunder, (other than calling these goobs for a solution) I told them I'd call back when I dug out all my receipts etc., to see if in fact, I had made said blunder. I called back, gave them the model number of the kayak, and the model number of the mount. They said that this was the correct combination, but, didn't have a solution, but that they would take my information, and have a manager call me back. I informed them that I wasn't looking to get a refund, I just wanted a solution. Perhaps a new battery strap for starters. I guess that was too complicated, or above their paygrade, and I never got the phone call from the "manager". It appears I'll have to drill holes, and spread the clips. Not happy with the "customer service", at all. Taking into account the cost of the yak, the mount, battery, motor, title and registration, I'm into it, for over a grand. That's just too much, to get such poor support.
