Not different from the top brands
Ì bought this Dutch oven because I wanted the particular size (6qt), and couldn't get it in my preferred brands. I've used Lodge cast iron in the past, but never this enameled variety. Since then, I've used it for bread, casseroles and braising meat and I see no difference with my items that are triple the price. While I still love the exclusive workmanship and history behind my brands, this hasn't let me down or shown any inferiority.

STARTED A FIRE IN MY KITCHEN
If you like FLAMES with your chili - this is the pot for you. Seriously, the paint melted to my stovetop and caused a fire. My husband and I received this as a wedding gift and have used it around 5 times to make different things. I was making chili in it today and had it on the stove at medium heat with oil in it when suddenly it bursted into flames. This is extremely upsetting to me and it has caused damage to both my stovetop and made my pan unusable. I'm unsure if this pan just malfunctioned or if something is wrong with all of these products.

MADE IN CHINA despite description
We love Lodge products. We own three pieces of Lodge cast iron pans that we bought over other brands specifically because of them being made in the USA. This was the first time we bought a Lodge piece online and we are so very disappointed. From the description on this listing: “Lodge Cast Iron operates two foundries on the banks of the Tennessee River in the small town of South Pittsburg, Tennessee; a town Lodge is proud to call home. The company is built on family values, American history, and high quality cookware. All Lodge seasoned cast iron and carbon steel cookware is proudly made in the USA, meaning you’ll get craftsmanship that has been passed down through generations.” This is so misleading because as you’re reading through the listing it *implies* that the cast iron Dutch oven is “proudly made in the USA.” But right on the box the pot is shipped in: “MADE IN CHINA.” How misleading of Lodge to tout their American roots directly under an item they’ve decided to have made in China. This is a deal-breaker for us. Secondly, as other reviewers have noted, the lagoon color isn’t even close to matching the color in the picture. The listing shows a beautiful, rich, green on every screen I’ve looked at but when it arrived it was a drab gray-blue color not remotely reminiscent of the color in the listing. What a waste of money that we thought we were spending on a true American company that sold out for their enameled products. I’d gladly have paid much more for something actually made in the USA.

Glass Cook top ruined by Lodge Dutch Oven
Initially, I was so excited to receive my Dutch Oven from Amazon, But, after only using it once, my Glass cook top was ruined.I was surprised as the manual and the website had no warning of using cast iron on a glass cook top.I only had the pot on the stove at medium for less than hour so when I saw a blemish on my stove. I thought it was merely a stain on the cook top, however, I soon realized to my dismay that the Lodge logo on the bottom of the Dutch oven acted like a branding iron and melted the glass and imprinted it with the "Lodge" logo.I contacted the Company a week and a half ago and gave them pictures but I've been completely ignored by Lodge and no one has called me back.

I wanted to like it...
I received my Lodge 6 Quart dutch oven today and was excited to open it. Online reviews have been great. I got the Pumpkin color, which was on sale and was the closest to what I wanted (orange). Unfortunately, upon opening, I discovered two blisters in the interior enamel. What a disappointment, as this would affect the long term performance and durability of the dutch oven. I'm returning the dutch oven and now debating whether to try again or just go for the French brand, which certainly won't have the same quality control issues.I'm wondering whether this was on sale as a second or if it was last year's color or just an unpopular color. Or maybe just a fluke that I got one that should not have passed inspection.
