My mom just got into playing a cajon (also bought from Meinl Percussion) and I thought these would be perfect to involve more people during a little jam session. It was perfect! Even someone who isn't very musically inclined can take part! We had our 7 month old baby shaking these (actually perfect size for a baby to hold a shake! Convenient dual purpose) They have a great sound and shape and perfect to add to any jam session! Extremely happy and would definitely buy again!

I know these are a legit musical instrument, but I bought them for my baby because they seemed high-quality and affordable. I was not disappointed. His fat little hands can hold them and they easily make a variety of pleasant sounds. I am not a percussionist, but they sound nicer to me than some "kids" ones I have used before. They were only a few dollars. There doesn't seem to be any way for them to open or be a choking hazard.

These eggs are superb quality. Although made of two halves, the plastic is thick enough and the join solid enough that I have no fear of them splitting, and I suspect they could take quite a lot of rough treatment. The medium, loud and very loud eggs are quite similar in the sound they make, just more harsh towards the very loud end. The soft shaker is completely different - probably filled with sand instead of what sounds like grit in the others. It makes a wonderful shhhhh sound that is very easy to control - my favourite by far, although maybe too quiet for playing with too many other instruments; it would be perfect for home/studio recording where you can control the levels. These eggs are great to have at jam sessions where there are people who don't play and instrument - anyone can grab one of these and join in.

We absolutely love these. We plan on buying many sets. It's a bit pricey but the quality is there. The sound is crisp and responsive and the egg shaped allows for versitily of sound. Great product!
