Warranty Description | Siemens strongly recommends against the use of "used" breakers. The installation of used breakers in a Siemens panel will void the warranty on the panel. Siemens does not sell used breakers and has not approved any 3rd party sellers to do so. |

Easy to install, fantastic result.
I have two of those, on my main and my sub.Real important, this thing needs to be the first breaker closet to the grid inlet (usually the top of the panel), where the big service wire comes in. Wires are always assumed to be hot so if you don’t know what you are doing don’t touch it!I know enough to get the job done. I have a voltage monitor and since I’ve put it in I’ve haven’t seen a surge!

Easy to install
If you can install a breaker, you can put this in in 10 minutes

Great easy addon at a low price
This is a great solution for adding surge protection without a lot of hassle or added expense. It fit our new Murray panel perfectly. (Murray is a Siemens product) There have been reviews questioning the effectiveness of this product which are simply unfounded. There have also been posts suggesting this product requires a grounded neutral bar in the box, this too is inaccurate. For anyone trying to install this product in anything but a Murray or Siemens panel forget about the warranty (whether it fits or not). The specific data sheet for this product directly states that this surge protector dumps surges across the hot and neutral wires. It says nothing about a ground wire anywhere. Also don't expect this device to protect all you equipment form every possible surge, you should always use an extra surge protector for you sensitive devices. Here is a bit more info on how products like this work and why those people saying it won't work are wrong. Inside the product is a "varistor" (it says so on the product data sheet) that is connected directly from the Hot bars(there are 2 of them) in the panel to the Neutral bar in the panel. A varistor resists all electrical flow below a specific threshold usually measured in voltage. Above that threshold (120 volts for this device) electricity starts to flow through the varistor increasing exponentially as the voltage goes up. This effectively short circuits electricity coming from any surge (usually this is from devices inside the house like washing machines ) from the hot to the neutral. Since electricity takes the path of least resistance that surge will dump back out onto the grid (unless there has been some catastrophe inside the home or something is wired wrong). Code requires panels that do not have a grounded neutral to have a separate ground wire back to the main shutoff panel where the neutral and ground are tied together so any surge coming from a grounded wire has to go back to the main panel and come into the protected panel through the neutral wire where it will be dumped onto the hot thus protecting the circuits.

Inspect the one you receive
My circuit breaker and surge protection device arrived intact in a box and sealed bag. Upon opening the packaging it appeared used. The plastic sticker that covers the center of the device and allows the leds to shine through had been completely removed and was stuck to the paper documentation. I was not able to get it off the paper without the paper staying on the adhesive. The front sticker with the breaker and model information was weathered and not fully intact. The breaker was dirty looking. I've installed plenty of the Siemens QP style single and double breakers to know what they should look like. This one just didn't look right. I went ahead and installed it as I needed the protection more than I needed it to look good.Although I can't vouch for the ability for this product to protect my electrical panel from a surge, I can say that it installs easily. The green led lights are lit when protected and mine are working as intended. The built in 15 or 20 amp circuit breakers (depending on what model you choose) mean that if it is installed where you'd normally have two 15 or 20 amp breakers above and below each-other you won't loose those circuits.Don't DIY this if you're not comfortable working in an electrical panel with potentially lethal voltages. You'll have to remove two consecutive breakers and install this in place of the two that were removed. Since the breaker is split with the surge protector between two outer breakers, the lower breaker lug may cause your black hot wire to need to be slightly longer than what you currently have. Beware you may need an extra 1" or so to make this work. You'll also need to install the white neutral wire into your panel where your neutral bus bar is located.

Quick and easy install. Perfect solution for a full panel.
Originally I purchased this to go into the home's main panel. However that panel was full of 240v 2-pole breakers. You can't use this to replace an existing 240v 2 pole breaker, it can only replace two 120v single pole breakers. Instead we installed this into a sub-panel in the garage. It replaced two 20 amp single pole breakers. The electrician had it installed in 10 minutes. The device comes with an information label that is installed inside the panel to alert electricians in the future that this device is present in the panel. The two lights showing that protection is enabled are easy to see in the garage. The lights cannot be seen when installed in an outside panel, they are not super bright. The photo of our outside panel was taken in twilight.I purchased another 15 amp version of this device that we will have installed in the HVAC unit sub panel. The house and HVAC will be protected against surges when we are complete. The only circuits that won't be protected are a window air conditioner and an EV charging unit. The surge protector comes with a two year residential warranty which includes up to $20,000 damage insurance. Repairs have to be authorized by Siemens for the insurance to be applicable, the 800 number is only manned during normal business hours. I think we can take the insurance with a pinch of salt since they make it tricky to use.

Easy to install in a Siemens power panel
I bought this unit because it fits right in to my Siemens 100A power panel. It is not a separate unit like some others that has to be mounted outside of the breaker area. Some others also require a circuit breaker to be purchased anyway. Delivery took a few weeks in these pandemic times. It may have been shipped from the US and I live in Canada, which may explain some of the delay. After it was installed and power was restored to the panel, I put the 2 breakers on, but I could not see the green indicator LEDs. I had to move the plastic cover over a bit so the LEDs could shine through the holes in that cover. Only time will tell if it trips during a surge and protects against overvoltage damage.

Know way of knowing if it works!
Easy to install if you know what your doing. Time will tell if it works. Unfortunately there is know way to know if it working. Two green light and your good to go.:)

Easy to install
Easy to install in my Siemens panel. Like some other reviewers mentioned, the front face label surrounding the LEDs was a bit crooked on mine. This is because the shape of the breakers behind is tapered which doesn’t leave much surface for the label to stick to. This doesn’t affect the functionality of the breakers at all, but it is a bit annoying. I trimmed the label a bit to get it to line up better.

Cheap Insurance
Easy to install and cheap Insurance to protect all your digital equipment. We have electronically controlled boilers to heat the house and while away in the winter there was an electrical surge that tripped both of them and they wouldn't restart without being reprogrammed. We came home prior to a freeze up so this is really cheap insurance should it happen again.

whole House Surge Protection
I just purchased the Sieman's 20 AMP Circuit Breaker and Surge Protective Device and has it installed in our breaker panel. The installation is easy if you know what you are doing. I had an electrician do the installation in order to not void our insurance coverage.
