Really liked the down-to-earth experience of people in extraordinary situations created by the premise of the book. Not too abstract or technical, really nice story through the eyes of a stalker and other people involved in the Zone.

Brilliant book. Bought it as a gift for my partner. We both noticed this book inspired the lore of the STALKER games and fell in love with this novel so much, it's such a mirror to the struggle during the USSR and even to now. The Strugatsky brothers really know how to tell a compelling story.
