How do you control the backlight PWM?

I’m pretty sure you PWM the input signal. There is no internal PWM source.

What are the power requirements?

5v. The two I am using are currently plugged into an Arduino Mega and an Arduino Uno.

How to get hardware connection to work only white screen?

The color is set in code. For example: tft.setCursor(0, 74); // set text start at location tft.setTextColor(ST7735_WHITE); //#define ST7735_WHITE 0xFFFF tft.println("Cool: "); // print "Cool: " in white Your ST7735 library should have all what you need.

Can this screen show pictures and or gifs with out the use of a Arduino?

No. It needs some kind of microcomputer to show pictures, if not an Arduino, try a Raspberry Pi.
