Xatrex Quality...
Aloha, I have a 3500 sq.ft completely off grid home on the big island of Hawaii.I had run the Xantrex TR1512 120 60 charger inverter for 11 years, besides it being a tad bit small for my power needs the only maintenence i ever did was to clean the dust from the fan ports...Sorry to say it finally died.So...a few weeks ago I purchaced the Xantrex 818-3010 InvChgr, Freedom XC PRO, 3000W 12V 150A,(The very same day my other Xantrex died) I ordered on a Tuesday night and to my supprized it was delivered by Saturday morning...I Was Not Dissapointed...I had it installed within 30 mins of opening the box, givin that the setup was almost exactly the same as my old Xantrex.First i noticed that it weighs quite a bit less than the older versions, and made it easier to mount. The new quick clips made it easy and fast to connect the ac in and out.Taking the time to make sure there is no pull from the wires is advisable..My batteries are 3 feet from inverter and the generator house is 60 feet away..I hit the power button and voila....Power..It was everything i expected from a Xantrex and better, there is no more buzz sound that i would get from the inverter and through the tv's.Flawless switch from generator ac power to inverter power. At peak usage there is...3 laptops, 3 tv's, router and modem, full size refridgerator, 2 fans, and lighting, etc..Nothing turns off or glitches out at all when the genorator turns off, the lights dont even dim or flicker..This now meets all of my power needs..The built in charger works like a champ, I run 12 6 volt batteries and it charges quick and efficient..It charges my system in less than half the time of my old Xatrex imo..The fans are a bit loud when charging but its a very small price to pay, also i know they keep the inverter nice and cool while charging...(I have done heat checks by hand) nothing should be getting hot if connected properly..I am currently using the 30 amp 3 prong outlet from my generator and it works fine for charging but occasionally it will pop the circuit on the outlet..I will be moving to the 50 amp outlet asap..Just need the plug.. :)What more can i say.... Xantrex Quality Power....Back up and running...Mahaols...Alohas...

Great lightweight inverter for smaller RVs
This has been a great inverter for my Sprinter RV where size and weight is an issue. Its not as sophisticated or probably as long lasting as a heavy Victron Inverter, but in my van it was the best choice due to low weight. Some nitpicks:The control panel is abysmal - you MUST have the remote bluetooth display so you can use the phone app which is much better. I am not fond of the silly Ac connectors and would prefer "regular" ones. When float charging the fans seem to run excessively seeing the unit is not doing much. For the price, you should also get WiFi control like Victron so you can monitor remotely. But overall, performance has been great and its been the best practical choice for my limited space.

Charging problem fixed
Was easy to install. Runs my microwave and coffee maker just fine. When plugged in keeping batteries charged is no worries.

Great In Grid Point Enclosures
The media could not be loaded. The power to size ratio of the XC Pro is simply the best. It's efficiency and light footprint make it the ideal RV power source, and is used by Grid Point Designs in their enclosures.

Works, but have some issues
First, after installed, noticed that one of the two fans never stops, even if the battery were charged. Never. Wrote to customer support and never get response. As it was shipped to another country, the ship back would cost a lot, so I decided to take action, even if the warranty gets void.Found the problem, two thermistors with identical connectors and wire colors, were swaped. After put the connectors in the right place, everything goes normal. That was a manufacturing mistake, that could be avoided if they use different colors for the wires.Well, manual suggest to install the equipment in 3 optional positions. Horizontal, and if hanged to a wall, with the fans pointed right or left. Most users will install the inverter that way, guest what, the control panel and 3 operation buttons lays 90degrees off, so you have to turn your head 90 degrees to change any settings, or buy a remote control panel. When operating with batteries, you can turn off the equipment, but if it receives AC input, there's no way to turn it off. You can turn off the inverting function, even the charger, not very easy, but you can. The thing is that even doing so, internal circuits draw 1A from the AC, that's about 120W without doing nothing.I hate that. That's because the switching power supply keep always on, in fact, every hour more or less it turns one fan, a noisy fan on, with the charger off and inverter off. What's the problem of having a full off switch? It has a firmware update way. Mine is up to date, but if you insert the Usb dongle to try to update, nothing happens. At least tell me, 'your are updated', or 'usb not compatible', but say something! This is a new model, I guess (finger crossed) that they will release a better firmware. I had the old 3.0Kw Prosine and liked that better (the remote Acs panel is far superior), but it has no support for repair. This is cheaper, light weight and powerful, but I dont like the things I have found.

Transfer Switch Glitch
Well it’s an okay unit, but, first you can’t mount it normally. Only flat on its back or on a wall sideways. In either case, viewing the controls is not easy. The real problem for me is that if your a/c or refrigerator is running and you lose shore power, it will not transfer to battery without shutting down with an overload alarm?!?!? I thought it was defective but after you read the manual it confirms that is the case. If you own an RV or boat, the only time you lose shore power is when A\C is on. So, if you’re going to switch to battery, turn off the A/C and switch the fridge to propane before you pull the plug. I hope they can fix it with a firmware update. My brother told me to buy a Victron… should have listened.
