How many lights are on this tree?

There are no lights on this tree. You have to buy your own, which is better, because the lights in prelit trees only go out.

Does this tree have individual branches to put on? or does it hinge? I never had a hinge tree, thanks.

It is a hinged tree. It has a TON of branches that split into smaller branches. I usually put in the bottom section and straighten all of the branches before moving on to the next section. This makes assembly easier.

We want a tall and wide based tree. Not skinny. It's hard for me to envision 66" diameter-can only do it with a tape measure-so would it be like that?

My husband built a 3 1/2' X 4' base to set it up on and the branches go over the edges of this base on all sides. It is definitely not skinny at the bottom, but not so big it looks bottom heavy. The tree slopes up nicely to the top. Hope this helps...
