These are excellent water storage from a good small company that takes pride in their product.

I did not like this, but I may be trying to use this for the wrong purpose. Intended to use this to fill with water, go camping for a few days, then wash out and dry, then store. This does not work for this purpose. 1) The vent port had no hole. I used a hammer and a nail to put a vent on it. 2) The main cap is recessed into the bottle. This leads to two things:* The cap will leak until you really torque down it on. But when you torque down on it, you can't unscrew it. Your knuckle will get all torn up trying to get the thing open again. Maybe you need to the additional wrench, but it shouldn't be necessary.* When you're done, there's no way to drain the water. It will pool up and will take forever to air dry for storage.It seems like this is meant for legit long term water storage. Fill them, stack them, then leave them alone. Would not recommend for daily use during occasional camping trips.

The 5-gallon BLUE container appears to be well-made and easy to handle (if you don't mind carrying 41 lbs. of water around). The big cap goes on easily and has a security ring which breaks off the first time it is unscrewed from the jug. (The cap comes in a separate bag; you install the cap when ready.) There is a little vent cap in back too which can be punched out (opened) if you want to enable easier pouring. I did not receive any instructions with mine. Now, the question is how long will it last while stored outdoors, full of water?

Do not think you are going to store water long term, and then be able to drink that water! I stored water in the container for 1.5 years. Just started using that stored water, and found it has a very bad plastic/chemical taste. Boiling the water, treating the water, etc does nothing to remove that bad taste. I will no longer purchase this product, nor will I recommend it.

This is a fantastic storage container, which is exactly what it is designed for. Sturdy, strong, and stack-able. Great for long term storage. I would not suggest using the spigot included. What for? Just open the cap and pour... duh?! Mine have never leaked (use the supplied wrench). These are a favored among disaster prepared people (research will show you that), which, again, is exactly what they are designed for.

Very heavy duty. zero smell after a day opened up. The handle is rock solidBe sure to drill a small air hole in the blue "port" under the cap, if you want to use the vent cap with success.

Be advised that the seller will not refund your money for this item and all shipping costs for returns plus initial shipping will be subtracted from your refund. Also be warned that these containers - which by initial appearances look like they could dispense water when lying on their sides using the optional spigot - have rounded sides and therefore wobble dramatically and are very tippy. Do not purchase this for camping trips if you want a stable water dispensing container. Also pay close attention to the dimensions as described in the "Q&A" for the product.
