Cook with fewer pots and pans, and save space, with Tefal Ingenio Essential: the versatile, everyday cookware range with patented detachable handle. Minus the handle, these pans stack inside each other for up to 50% space saving – great where storage is limited. With the handle, they go from the hob, to the oven and onto the table, all in one click. Cooking has never been so simple! Made from Bakelite, the handle is 100% safe. Three fixation points keep it secure, plus it's reinforced to carry up to 10kg and guaranteed for 10 years. Tefal frying pans have our iconic Thermo-Spot heat indicator which turns solid red when the pan reaches the ideal cooking temperature, ensuring the perfect texture, colour and flavour, every time you cook. Our durable Powerglide non-stick coating means these pans don't scratch and food slides right off, while the PTFE exterior means they're non-stick on the outside for easy cleaning. You can use them on all hobs (excluding induction) and they're oven safe up to 260°C. Attach the Ingenio airtight lid and your pan transforms into a storage container for the fridge. You can even reheat food in the same pan and they're dishwasher friendly. Made in France by Tefal, the world leader in cookware, Ingenio Essential guarantees delicious results, every day.

The lids smell stinks after first use and won’t go off
The pots are amazing, space saving, top quality from Tefal, the handle is easy to fix on the pot, I gave this set a 1 star rating because the lids are made from glass and silicone, the silicone part stinks from the smell of food from first usage, and the smell won’t go off. As a result, I’m not able to put them in the drawer with the pots cause the entire drawer will smell, I’m not able to wash them in the dishwasher although they are dishwasher safe but the dishwasher stinks because of those lids. I wish Tefal would make glass or stainless steel lids for those pots!

Disposable, made with planned obsolescence.
Once upon a time, Tefal used to be a trusty and reliable manufacture of non-stick cookware, they used to be the icon, the benchmark of non-stick pans and pots, an investment for you kitchen, lasting for years and years on end. That's changed, one of the fines examples of this change is this Ingenio Essential 14 Piece Pots and Pans Set that I bought a little over a year ago (13 months to be precise). I'm about to bin the whole set as both detachable handles are broken and all pans and posts have the teflon layer peeling (yeah, seems that now you have to cook with a thermometer pointing to the Tefal pan, to control the temperature of it, otherwise, if it gets too hot, the teflon starts to peel). Also, the pans and post have all the edges scratched by the detachable handles. The whole set looks 10 years old, but it is only 1. Based in my last experience contacting Tefal customer service, I will not even bother to contact them again, just like the last time, they will come back with all kinds of excuses to do not replace any item, full of terms and conditions in order to exchange under warranty. As I said in my headline, Tefal now produce disposable products, made with planned obsolescence, like most of the big brands. I'm moving to Greenchef brand, I bought a non-stick large pan around the same time I bought the Tefal set, it has been used every single day and still looking mint, rock solid non-stick layer, just like Tefal USED TO BE. Bye-bye Tefal, hello Greenchef!

Not as good as I was hoping for
I feel I've wasted my money. I'm persevering but the pans are difficult to work with. They store in a small space but that seems the only advantage. I'm wishing I'd gone for pans with fixed handles. I'm finding that everytime I 'un-clip' and 'clip on' the handle it slightly 'chips' the pan. I am trying my best to be careful because I like to keep my pans pristine. It's really frustrating. My last set of pans was from Tefal and I loved them and they looked really good for their age. The other problem is draining veg etc. I use the lid because there's a drainage hole but it's positioned opposite the handle. You have to put the lid on a certain way so that the handle sits in the gap made for it on the lid, but the other gap is straight across which means it's really awkward to tip out the water. The drainage gap would have been better on the side.

Steamer cant be used as a steamer as all the included lids are too small.
I love the idea and love the pans themselves, but the steamer in this 13pc set is totally pointless as cannot be used. The 24cm steamer fits on the top of 24cm pan fine, but as the top of the steamer is larger you cannot use the 24cm lid. The steamer is designed to be used with a 26cm lid, unfortunately that is not included in the kit, and cannot even be purchased separately. The Tefal product pictures show the steamer in use with a lid on it, and even on the box it shows a picture of the steamer with a lid on it. It looks like no one at Tefal actually tried to use the bits in the box together. Don't choose this set for the included steamer, you are better off buying another more basic igneio set, and purchasing the steamer separately as it then comes supplied with a 26cm lid that fits it!

Great idea, but scratches far too easily
I love the idea for these saucepans. We have the frying pans from the same range and are perfectly happy with them. Being able to store them all so compactly is fantastic.BUT.These are the most easily scratched non-stick pans I've ever had. We returned the first two that were delivered because just the pans shifting in transport had scratched each other's coating. We finally accepted the third replacement but are now returning them because they are so scratched in less than 6 months - despite only using wooden and silicone utensils, nothing metal. And we store them with felt protector pads in between them.

Can't use them on a hob with the handles on
I'm only giving this review as time has gone on i have had to send the small pan and handles back after less than a year. I am getting a replacement but not happy with the answers I got it was a gesture of good will mor than anything but when your cooking and you have a pan on the hob you need to hold the handle to keep the pan from sliding off the top and stiring liquid also the frying pans need the handles on when frying food but according to the customer service you cant have the handles on the pans when cooking as it affects the mechanism in the handles also clipping the handles on the pan takes the coating off the pans so this set is not going to last long as the coating comes off I feel that if you have to cook with no handles on there is going to be accidents and someone is going to get badly burned
