How do you shorten the rope ?

Open the handle and tie a knot on the rope or cut it below the washers.

Is it 1lb for each handle making it 2lbs total or is it 1/2lb for each handle making it 1lb total?

1.5 lb is the total weights for both handles. Too light for me

how good would you say you guys like it i jump rope from any where from 30-45 mins on a regular day basis and i need a rope that is fast to spin

I purchased this last year. Overall it is a good rope that is fast spinning and because it's weighted it definitely helps during those cardio sessions.
