Great product.
Found this product on a YouTube video regarding seniors having to get up at night to go to the bathroom. It suggested keeping one next to the bed might be safer than trying to navigate to bathroom in the middle of the night. Product is sturdy and I was really happy with how inexpensive it was. Delivery was quick. Setup also quick, because thankfully, most of the parts were pre assembled, so not much to put together.

Practical, Sturdy, and Easy to Use Bedside Commode
Practical, Sturdy, and Easy to Use Bedside Commode The Drive Medical folding bedside commode turned out to be a great balance of durability, convenience, and affordability. Setup was straightforward—snapping on the seat and lid took just minutes, and adjusting the height with the push pins was equally simple. The foldable frame is a smart touch, since it makes storage and transport much easier than bulkier fixed commodes. The steel frame feels very stable, and it easily supports weight up to the stated 350 lbs. The included bucket has a handle and cover, which makes emptying and cleaning manageable. For added convenience, it can also be used directly over a standard toilet, so it doubles as a raised seat with arms when needed. Comfort-wise, the seat is serviceable. It’s not padded, so extended sitting isn’t ideal, but for short-term use—especially post-surgery or for nighttime convenience—it works well. The armrests provide solid support for getting up and down, and the overall design feels safe and reliable. A couple of points to keep in mind: the seat dimensions may feel a bit narrow for larger users, and while the build quality is good, some of the plastic parts aren’t as heavy-duty as the steel frame. Adding disposable commode liners makes cleanup even easier and helps with odor control. Bottom line: A sturdy, versatile, and budget-friendly bedside commode that folds for storage, adjusts easily, and provides dependable support. Great choice for recovery, elderly care, or as a backup option for added safety at home.

Perfect and very sturdy!
I just had a hip replacement. I needed to get a riser for the toilet. This one is so sturdy, I love it! I’m able to get to the bathroom at night without any concern of falling. It was also very easy to put together. My son uses the bathroom sometimes and I like this one because the full seat lifts up for him. I don’t need the bucket, so it is nice that the bucket is removable and you can use it with or without depending on your needs. It’s definitely the best and it’s category because I did try one that sits on top of the toilet at first, and that wiggled around too much that I was afraid I would fall. This one is perfect.

The size of the seat
The chair is very sturdy, works well, the only thing I would change is to make the seat elongated!

Simple and Practical
The Drive Medical Folding Steel Portable Commode has received mostly positive reviews. Users highlight that it is easy to assemble, lightweight, and practical, making it ideal for people with limited mobility, post-surgery recovery, or temporary home use. It includes a bucket with a lid, which helps maintain hygiene and makes cleaning easier. Its foldable design allows for convenient storage and transport. As a downside, some users mention it is not the most sturdy option and may feel unstable when used near the maximum weight limit. Overall, it is a functional and affordable solution for basic mobility needs.

simple to assemble and does the job
I needed a ‘bedside’ commode on short notice for my wife after her hip surgery. The first-floor bathroom in our century-old house is a converted closet and has insufficient room for the walker that she is required to use for the next six weeks, at least. This Drive Medical chair was very easy to assemble and, while not as sturdy as an actual toilet, is certainly good enough to handle a 200-pound person. It helps that the height is adjustable, and I appreciate the lid that makes emptying the pot less objectionable. (Liners and absorbent pads also help.) It is also nice that it can be used to augment the low toilets in our house, providing a raised seating surface and side arms to help someone who would otherwise struggle.
