The Advice In This Book Has Fixed My Symptoms
Following gastroscopy I was diagnosed with a 40mm hiatal hernia, I had a constant sensation of something stuck in my throat / chest. I purchased an Iqoro training device but my symptoms didn't improve. Following a barium swallow I was told the hernia had gone. I asked the consultant if he had ever heard of Iqoro and he spoke to me like I was an idiot. From that point on I realised I was going to have to fix myself. I bought this book based on other reviews.Omg within days it had worked, I went cold turkey on my PPIs. I added acid back into my diet and I am taking the supplements recommended.I feel so cross with the medical profession and the big Pharma - this should be on Panorama, I wish we could tell everyone!Thank you Jonathan Wright and Lane Lenard for writing this book, I really did not want to take PPIs for the rest of my life.

Incredibly Biased view
In all honesty you can read this book and take what you want from it. I read this mid flare up of my GERD and there was nothing that I took away from it that I firstly hadn’t read before and also that I didn’t already discover in other books. It is a very informative book but incredibly biased and there is nothing in this book that I thought helped me to practically reduce my symptoms right now. The grey man story was not a great way to start the book as it’s not all cases of gerd that are the same. I found Jonathan Aviv, Joshua Rosenthal, Colin Campbell & Elizabeth Lipski far more informative and in biased. Please follow your own medical advice from your own doctor we are all unique and this does not mean bin your medication based on what we read from the one opinion.

A bit too biased for my liking but good
I bought this book after doing a lot of research on stomach acid. I have recently been diagnosed with a lax oesophageal sphincter, and this book mentions it and GERD a lot. It does have some compelling arguments in there and I agree with a lot of what it is saying, and it is quite helpful and recommends things you can try to get your acid back to normal levels. However, the reason I haven't given this book a higher star rating is because I feel like it is heavily biased towards its' own views. It constantly repeats itself about how pharmaceutical companies are making so much money (true) and in many graphs shows how harmful medications are. I just feel like it is pushing the subject a bit too much rather than giving facts on both sides. I prefer more balanced books myself.

Fantastic. Acid reflux explained and solved - and much more.
I thought this book was brilliant. I have stopped taking Omeprazole and Naproxen and have started having cider vinegar before or during each meal. My bowels are tons better and acid reflux is kept away as long as I take the cider vinegar. My next step is to test Hcl and bromain tablets in rhe hopes that I'll still get further benefit.I actually loved the detail in the book - it is very technical but after a few readings I hope to absorb more. Without the detail I would not have found the book as informative, or convincing. It is a fantastically complex subject - but has to go deep into the story in order to make holistic sense. This book has changed my thinking.
