Durable goatskin leather is tough enough to withstand heavy use yet soft and supple to the touch. The leather wrap completely encases the pages, and a matching leather strap wraps around the journal to keep it closed while not in use. The cream-colored pages are flush with the cover, and available as either blank pages or lined pages. Please note: I carefully select a distressed portion of the irregular outer edge of the hide to use on the cover flap---this guarantees each journal is unique. The flap on your journal will vary slightly from the one shown in the photograph. Your initials will be hand-stamped on the cover, so they are visible when then journal is closed. Exact placement will vary based on the shape of the cover flap.

Cute, but overpriced for the level of quality. Meh.
The price is too high for the level of crafting and quality of materials used. I think $20 would be reasonable for the one I received. The leather is nicely dyed. I ordered the purple, and it is colored very well, but...It is awkwardly cut, and the stamping was unevenly tooled causing ridges in the lettering, making some lettering look pronounced and the others quite faded. This is obvious also from the inside of the cover where 2 of the 6 letters stamped show through. The leather is stretched and rumpled under where the band was stitched on, yet smooth everywhere else, which is noticeable. It's obvious this is where the person sewing the strap on grasped the leather to do so. It looks amateur. I would cut the tail off the cover, which could remove most of the stretched bump, but doing so would also remove the first two letters of the stamping, so that's out.Really, for $20, this journal would be craft show cute, but paying $45+ after shipping... I no longer have plans to order one of each color. (Sorry, but its not worth it. I really wish it was.) I wish the designer(s) much success at improving their leather crafts. I would have given a much higher rating if the item had been appropriately priced for the level of quality.

fast shipping, quality product.
super nice person told me promptly that the forest green wouldnt be in stock for a few days, when it did come in the book was done and shipped same day and i received it 2 days later instead of 7 like amazon told me. book looks great, its thinner leather so its flexible and the binding and letters look great.

Quality product
I use this product for work, the craftsmanship is great. Beautiful soft leather and a good size. Totally worth the money. I may buy more for Christmas presents.

Great Post Grad Gift
A gift for our grandson getting into post grad at CMU. He chose all the customization and is very happy with the journal.

The pictures do not do it justice
Love it, its just the kind of unique journal/book I was looking for. Im glad i took the option for more pages ^.^Will definently be looking at other colors once I fill this one.

I loved the book
I loved the book. It has been great so far. I loved how when I write with my pen it feels different then when I write in a notebook. Also the gothic engravings were nice!

The journal I have been looking for
This is the book i have been looking for! It is beautiful. The leather feels so suple and soft and the lined pages a thick enough for my favorite fountain pen or gel ink. I love this book!

It was beautifully made.
This was a Christmas gift for my oldest daughter and she absolutely loved it. I believe it was her favorite gift this year.
