If they fall on the rug will the dust and lint stick to them and ruin them?

I bought them a couple of months ago, when they fall to the floor (I don’t have carpet) the dirt (hair, dirt, lint) sticks to them, but using water they are easily removed, I have sometimes used soap and even so they do not get ruined, they remain sticky. I love them and my baby has a lot of fun watching them come down from the wall.
