Traxxas part that fits great. Should have came stock but here we are.Installation is easy but follow these steps…•Drill 4 small pilot holes from underneath the body through the 4 empty holes in the cage.•Remove the middle part of the cage.•Drill out the holes to the correct size by stepping up gradually in bit size. Make them big enough for the skid plate studs to fit through not just the screws.•Clean off excess plastic then push the skid plate on through the new holes.•Put the cage back in and screw them together until tight.That’s pretty much it.

Good fitment and shipped quickly

At $110 each I think the $10 this costs is well worth it to help protect the body, especially since the roof takes a lot of beating when you flip it over and it slides along the concrete. To make it sit flush you have to put some rather large holes in the body, large enough for the 4 pegs on the underside of this piece to go through. If you don't have a "body reamer" tool you might consider buying one, it would make installation a lot easier. I used a drill bit and razor blade, but the drill bit cut into the body support underneath so the included screws weren't large enough and I had to source screws with larger heads. In the end it looks and works great though.

No clear instructions on how to properly attach this to your remote-control vehicle, and does not come with a template on where to drill holes on the XMaxx shell. Takes around 30 full minutes of measuring and planning to properly drill those holes and put the roof-guard on. Even after that process, the guard still does not sit smoothly with the body of the rc car, so would definitely say that one would need some knowledge to properly assemble. It does do it's job by guarding the car, but looks messy at best from an aesthetic point of view.
