BOSCH (FIX 7818 Fuel Pressure Tester Kit

I connected the gauge to a GMC fuel rail using the schrader valve on the rail. Paid for itself when it confirmed my suspicion the fuel pressure in the rail was not being maintained unless the fuel pump was energized. Now if it would just tell me what's causing the pressure loss. Seriously, that's not it's function, but it will help identify the cause and confirm a successful repair.I detected no leaks from the gauge or connection during a running engine tested which indicated good fuel pressure and proper fuel pressure regulator action. Hopefully it will last long enough to determine if it's an injector or fuel pump check valve issue.I wish it came with a longer hose. Difficult to monitor during the static pressure test if you don't have a helper to turn the key to ON while you watch the gauge.

I got this to test the fuel pressure on my Ford engine. It worked great for the day I used it, but when I removed the adapter piece the plunger" extension (which this kit calls the Adapter") broke loose. Now the tool is useless until I can get Bosch to replace it under warranty. I've called the 800 number listed on the packaging but they don't seem to know how to file a warranty claim, which is disappointing. I will try their website now but frustrating to have this low quality adapter bundled with an otherwise very strong reputation of the Bosch brand.

Perfect for my need, helping resolve my fuel delivery issue on my 96 Chevy c/k 1500. Very responsive! Problem solved quickly, as it alerted me that my issue did not lie with fuel pump, rather, my issue was either the fuel pressure regulator or the entire spider injector unit, so I replaced both while I had all disassembled. Purchased one and had to return after one use, the brass tip inside fell out with the oring

I saw this model being used by a professional engine repair technician and did some additional research before purchasing. This unit is very easy to use and comes with two fittings to allow the test gauge to be used on most engine fuel systems. The pressure release is a nice feature and keeps from spilling fuel on other components. Appears to be heavy duty and is substantial in the build quality and fit and finish. Definitely recommended for those working on your own engines and fuel systems.
