I have short hands but large palms, which usually means I get "cadet" sized gloves, but unfortunately there aren't any "cadet" sized hand splits or braces out there unless you get something custom made. I was so glad to have found this brace after searching and trying others, none of which fit until this one did. The thumb is "too long" technically, but even though the velcro part that goes around the thumb hits the top of the thumb for me, it still does the job of keeping the thumb immobile, which is exactly what I need. The velcro around the wrist is easy to adjust and stays in place even if it's a little loose, which is what I need since I use this while sleeping.A while back my left thumb started occasionally twitching on its own, and it's progressed to trigger thumb, where I can only bend it a certain amount until it pops and hurts and sticks in position until I un-pop it, which also hurts. I've got some exercises to use but in the meantime, until they work (if they do), my big problem is that I move my hand in my sleep and need something to keep it in place so I don't wake myself up with the pain.This brace does the job. It's comfortable, light weight, easy to adjust, and soft. It did come with quite a chemical rubbery smell but one wash in Woolite in the sink and dried on the line (not in a machine) and it was fine.

I seem to have trigger thumb and although it's not super painful, it's still bothersome and wasn't resolving with my original "do nothing" approach. This brace is a good option for the money. It fits well (hand size = ladies medium) and provides support up to about the bottom of my thumbnail, so it keeps the upper thumb joint stable. I can still use my hand reasonably well -- am typing this review while wearing the brace. I find it's especially helpful to wear it at night. Wake up without the "trigger" effect and soreness. I'm not sure whether the underlying condition is actually improving as the symptoms come back after about an hour when I take the brace off... however, I don't think that can be blamed on the brace. Maybe two weeks isn't long enough for it to resolve.Agree with other reviewers that it takes a long time to dry after being washed, so I'm buying a second one. No issues at all with the Velcro. My one complaint is that the edge stitching quickly began unraveling at the top end of the thumb hole; but that can be fixed with Fray Check, which I always keep around for such things. For the price, I think the overall quality isn't bad.

I had issues for months with a trigger thumb that didn't seem to heal. I kept hurting it during the night when I pulled on blankets or hit it against things during sleep. With this brace, it kept the thumb straight and prevented injury during the night so it could finally heal. Somewhat bulky, but comfortable. I wouldn't wear it during the day for regular activity, but it was a great option for night use.

I ordered this to ease the pain and help the range of motion of my thumb with trigger finger. The thumb part of the brace does go up past the most distal joint from my hand and holds it gently in a mostly extended position (could be more if I tightened it more). I use it at night in bed and it keeps me from going into my clenched hands position which had been locking my thumb into flexion for most of the day. Has also significantly decreased the pain I had throughout the day . I do wake up with a slightly sweaty thumb, but it's minor. Would highly recommend for trigger thumb.

I love the comfort and how light it is, however, picture displayed on Amazon is not accurate fir fitting purposes. The covering doesn't reach almost to tip of thumb but barely over knuckle. I have average size hands. It does the job but wish it fit better.

This support works very well. Some people complained about the velcro starting to fray on the thumb. Velcro is not strong enough to be constantly opened and closed. Just adjust the velcro to your thumb and then when you need to remove the support, undo tahe wring velcro and slide your thumb out. This works very easily and well for me and no damage to the thumb velcro!

I've been feeling a weird strain in my thumb for the last week after a long driving trip, so I thought I'd give this a shot. I'm really happy with how secure it feels because of the metal bar inside of it, and when I put it on I felt immediate relief because of the stabilization and immobility. The rest of my hand can move freely and I'm not as hindered as I thought I would be from doing normal things. I feel like this will give it a good chance to heal.It's also much more attractive than the photos - there's no ugly branding, and there's a bit of a leathery looking detail.Good price. Came fast. Super happy.
