We purchased these chimes to replace a very old set of much higher pitched wind-chimes. These are perfect. The most gentle of breezes elicits a lovely mellow tone. The materials and craftsmanship seem perfect. It is a pleasure to hear the quiet, mellow tones when a breeze stirs.I was particularly pleased to be purchasing a product entirely crafted by American workmen from American made materials.

A friend who had passed away

I got my chimes a couple days ago and hung them immediately. They make beautiful music. As others mentioned they were not chiming as often nor were they striking on the different tubes as I would have liked. I left them as is while I made new sails as Espresso Fan described.I used aluminum coil stock left over from siding my house years ago. It was very simple to do, I bought a grommet pliers and small grommets at Lowes for ten bucks. Spray painted the new sails with texture spray paint I had on the shelf. I just replaced the original sails with my new modified sails and MAN what a difference. Yesterday afternoon was breezy and today the air is more or less still. The chimes are ringing now more than they did in yesterday’s breeze. Leaves on the trees are not moving but my new custom wind chime sails are. My new sails seem to weigh less than the much smaller original sails thus they move much easier.Thanks Espresso Fan for sharing your fix. Corinthian Bells, you should try out this modification. While not as aesthetically pleasing as the original round sails they function much better and will provide more enjoyment of the beautiful music the bells produce. Someone suggested giving a choice of sails, or for the cost involved maybe provide both size sails in the box.I too bought both the 50 inch and the 29 inch models.These things are great.Update: I enjoyed these chimes so much, after the suggested modifications, I bought the 44 inch chimes. Using Espresso Fan’s formula the replacement sail for this chime needed to be approximately 27.5 square inches. I had to search to find the appropriate formula to calculate the dimensions of the sail at a 1:2 ratio. For anyone interested, the sail for the 44 inch Corinthian Bells wind chime in the key of E is 3.75 inches by 7.5 +/-.

Maybe you get what you pay for. These are larger with good tone. (Personally, I would like to have extremely deep tones that last for minutes, but I suspect I'd have to have 6' diameter tubes!

These windchimes bring us SO much joy. The quality, the appearance, and the stunning sound are all winners. When the wind picks up a little, the soft notes reverb for a long time, and we've had friends comment on how soothing it is. Thank you for such a top notch product.
