It's a delicate binder and should be handled with care, but I think it's worth it. It is incredibly slim, and after I figured out the ring mechanism, I never want to go back to metal binder rings. The only thing I haven't liked is that the cover is so flexible that you really have to use the notebook on a flat surface; however I took a few minutes to DIY a shitajiki insert to add stability and it's perfect. I'm going to order more in other colors to hold old notes and journal pages.

This description is a lie. It holds way more pages than I anticipated. I was turned off by the 25 page limit but thank goodness I decided to purchase because it fits a lot of pages. Just buy the looseleafs in A5 size which are avaialable on Amazon for 6.5 bucks

Good little (and I mean little) notebook. I didn’t notice it only comes with 10 sheets and for the price, I think it should come with at least 20. I immediately had to hop back on here and order paper refills. So $7 for the notebook and $6.10 for the refills for A5, yikes. This paper came highly recommended from some people in the fountain pen community, but I think I prefer my Emshoi notebook/journal as far as the way the pen writes on the paper. Seems a teeny bit scratchy with the Kakuno despite the paper feeling softer to the touch than the Emshoi. My Pilot Namiki fountain pen ink (cartridge) in purple doesn’t bleed through the other side. There is some ghosting though- I’ll include a picture for reference. Overall satisfied I guess, but not satisfied on the price vs quantity. Edit: I have since gotten a Kaweco fountain pen, and it writes smoother on this paper. So maybe some nibs just don’t play as well on different paper. I am getting feathering here and there though. I did some little ink swatches with a q tip on one sheet and it didn’t bleed through. I added a sticker to mine because it was too plain.
