Lonesome Days, Savage Nights

Doesn't get any better than this!
I loved every page-turning minute of this comic. Overlook the fact that they used the Lon Chaney type Werewolf instead of something more wicked-cool. Instead focus on the fact that this is one bad@$$ story that should go down in history as the best Wolfman story EVER!!!!!! The gore and dismemberment is just a side-bonus.

Unimpressive graphics
Lonesome Days, Savage NightsThis is a graphic novel. The storyline involves a superhero's origin story. In this case, the origin story involves a werewolf. Our hero was attacked by a werewolf, survived, and then became a werewolf. I'm surprised that we haven't seen this approach to superheroes before. The plot was straightforward with crime lords and revenge. A drawback with this kind of approach to making superheroes is that it seems that it could accidentally create other superheroes or supervillains, which sort of happens in this story.I had a problem I had with the book was that the visuals were muddy and dark, making it hard to ascertain what was going on in the story.

Great read.
I just purchased my first comic book in many years. I grew up on Superman, Batman, and the Justice league of America. Recently I reread a lot of the classic comic books that were spared my moms spring cleaning. Looking for new collecting and reading material my nephew recommended Lonesome Days, Savage Nights. I didn’t realize you can buy an App, a Kindle version, or a physical comic book. I opted for the comic book. My nephew had purchased the Kindle version. I was surprised by the quality, the artwork, and darkness of this well though out story of a Werewolf / Cop. I look forward to the future dark realities Stu Miller and his savage band of justice seekers forge upon those misfortunate no lives who they cross the path with.John B.

Dark story, nice art.
Wow, this story is dark, all the way , but it ends well. There are quotable moments in the wrting that are like dark punchlines.I read this on the Kindle app, on my phone. I expect it will look even better on a larger device or on paper. The artist did a good job of portraying the violence, sadness and mundane moments of this story.I gave it 3 stars because it wasn't always a page turner for me. I suspect it was due to having to blow it up on my phone to read the words. Also, it was so dark. The protagonist's life and the lives of those around him, was a place I wouldn't want to be in.I've read other dark stories, that, as bad as the place seems to be, there is something compelling that makes me want to be there. This, was not it.But it is well done with a worthy ending.

Savage Ways
This is a gritty down to earth tail. It takes place in a space where crime and horror intersect. Stu is a man that only seems to have bad luck. When his girl is killed, he lets his inter Demon out. Literally. With the help of a friend he's able to hold on to his sanity long enough to get revenge. This is a old story, but I liked the new packaging a lot.

Good twist on a common storyline
Five stars are for artwork first and story second. Better than the plot is the exploration of life as a werewolf and how a relationship might survive such an affliction. That piece tossed in with the vengeance story and the ghost of a loved one kept it fresh. But the art was matched to the story style which is a common complaint I have with other graphic novels. So yes, five stars.

A fun violent werewolf tale
A fun read but not quite on par with 30 Days of Night but to be fair that's easily one of my all time favorite vampire stories. This would be a fun movie or TV series. A werewolf detectives vigilante story has plenty of creative directions this could go.

A really good werewolf as hero story
Somewhat similar to Marvel's Werewolf by Night comic from the 80's. Story is quite good and art is excellent. I wasn't crazy about the coloring choice as it hides some of the line work and lessens the impact of the gore scenes. Personally I like that they use the Wolfman style monster. I've always preferred it.
