LIKE LIPSTICK TRACES

I'm a Polaroid junkie, but not every book on Polaroids rocks. "Like Lipstick Traces" is a brilliant book. The editors gave 13 international graffiti artists a Polaroid camera and piles of film and told them to just shoot. The outcome of this ingenious endeavor is captivating. The photos are diverse, beautiful, tacky, upside down, crazy, yet always interesting. And the photos are about daily life, not specifically graffiti. Each photo is titled which makes it all the more interesting.In addition to the photos, each artist was asked to write something about: NOWADAYS, SECRET STORIES, and INSTANT PHOTOGRAPHY. By writing on these 3 simple topics the reader gets a glimpse as to who these artists are and what they do. Of special interest is 29 year old artist, ROCKY's, statement about SECRET STORIES.I liked the design of the book as well. There are some full page photos, but the majority of the book remains true to Polaroid's nature. The photos are printed the same size and shape of Polaroids, which to me is important as it maintains Polaroid's special integrity.Really interesting book...both for the eyes and the mind.

Wonderful book. It is a pure visual pleasure. A beauty of the world.Talking about the shipping is actually meaningless compared to this book. But I've got no choice:That was fast, perfect. The book is exactly as described on Amazon, as new as when it got out of the printer.Thanks.

This book is as the hipsters in this book say"toats whatevs". You can tell the person behind the book is a fan of Dash Snow, so he figures I'll get 9 writers and have them take pics with Polaroids and WA-la instant art...Well no dice, Dash took pics of him and his pals doing drugs, doing graff, doing each other, daily ny life as it went by too, then the art scene tells him he's in. This is what happens when you try and sneak in the scene,.. by copying what you like... LAME!!
