McCurnin's Clinical Textbook for Veterinary Technicians and Nurses

I rarely leave reviews but I had to with this purchase-- I was SUPER anxious ordering off of amazon for my school books.. but not only was this the cheaper of options, it came in LAYERS. We were having downpour after downpour since the past 2 days and this book came in its own plastic wrap, then another sealed packaging bag, then a box, all then inside another box!! Was super grateful for how well packaged it was and how nice the book itself is! Also just in time for classes as well.

As a retired ER doc (for humans), I will share a secret professional Emergency Room “tip” with you:When you are rubbing your chin and aren’t quite sure what to do next, turn to the most experienced nurse or Vet Tech present and ask (in your best “teaching voice”;-), “Well Jim, what do you think we should be concerned about?” This book is like having a couple of “old hands” at your newbie side and can save your bacon (and your porcine patient?) over and over again. This practical guide gets down in the weeds when appropriate and has a vast amount of crossover human care. The micro & histopath sections are esp. good. I paired this book with a Merck’s Vet Manual for my SHTF hard copy library. If you know of better, let me know.

I have used this for 2 courses at my school so far and I'll need it for the rest of my time there. It's a great book, contains information relevant to sooooo many different courses. If you need in-depth notes, this is the book for you.

I had the exact experience as Sadee (previous review)! I ordered the package at first then only received the workbook (not sealed). Then I submitted a return and refund, which was easy to do and successful. Then I ordered the same package again and got both the hardcover textbook and workbook (both sealed) a week later. Definitely recommend the textbook for students, workbook needs an answer key to be useful. Be careful when purchasing this item!

Best overall text for technicians. Have multiple editions and strongly recommend newest edition as the field continually evolves. If you buy the matching workbook just know the answer key is not available. I don't feel the workbook is needed as the text is more than sufficient
