There is a volume adjustment on the receiver unit and is more consistent and louder when used with transformer instead of batteries.

Will this work as an interior room to room intercom system?

Can I buzz people in with this?

I purchased this for my mom as a replacement; this is just an intercom so no you cannot buzz people in with this unit... hope this helps!
