Case-Mate Crafted Woods Case for Apple iPhone 5/5S - Retail Packaging - Carved Mahogany

This is the first case I bought for my brand new iPhone 5S. It is compatible with the 5S (The camera cutout is large enough to accomadate the larger dual tone flash compared to the smaller single tone flash) and it clicks in pretty nice with the phone.Pros:This case fits nicely with the iPhone 5S. There aren't any sizing issues where a button isn't sitting well with the case, and it looks quite attractive. The buttons on the outside feel as if they are an extension to the original iPhone. I believe the manufacturer says that the wood on the back isn't imitation, and it sure feels that way. The wood feels raw and unfinished, which is what I wanted. It matches well with the gold finish on the touchID sensor and the trim of the iPhone 5S gold.Cons:Beside the aesthetics, there were some issues that were apparent immediately. The silver trim of of the case is made of plastic, and contrary to what the images online shows, it looks, feels, and is very apparent that it is made of plastic. For a premium feeling case on the back, the sides feel awfully cheap, and for its price, I was hoping for it to feel less "plasticy." I bought it knowingly that it was plastic, but was hoping for some sort of finish which would make it feel less so.Other small issues that may not bother other people but irks me just a bit are the opening for the camera and the mute button on the side. The opening gives the camera lens quite some space for it to operate, which is good to ensure operation. It just seems a bit too big for my taste. Not entirely a big deal. The recess space for the mute rocker is built so that people with bigger hands or fat fingers may not be able to easily access it.Note: This is NOT a slim case. I had a slim case for my previous phone, the iphone 4S, and this case adds just a smidge of size in all dimensions. I don't mind since I wanted to it for better protection.

the silver is all plastic, . the "mahogany" looks more like cardboard or plywood that is stained. looks cool and i've gotten compliments but dont expect a fancy case or something that matches the detailed description given. slightly above wal-mart like products. ive had it for a few months and its still working, hasn't broken, but i was hoping it would be a little nicer than what i was given. there really is no point in paying the up charge for "fancier" wood products as described on their websites as im sure it is all the same wood and just dyed differently. but maybe not. whatever it is, the whole phone market is overpriced...not worth the 40-50 bucks you spent but youre going to spend that much for an otterbox or any other crap you buy online for your phone.

I absolutely love the look of this case! I like that each one is unique due to the individuality of the wood. The case fits my iPhone 5s perfectly, however, I only gave 4 out of 5 stars because the top and side buttons are difficult to press with this case (a bit of a nuisance, but I can live with it). The outside frame of the case is a hard plastic and a greyish-lavendar, definitely a "feminine" case. I would order again!

Recieved case sooner than the time allocated for shipping. Was always notified of any updates. Item colour isn't grey of back cover as it's labelled but don't mind it as it's the natural colour of wood. Overall nice quality product.

good case, looks cool.. only negative feedback is that the "metal" has a purple-ish tint to it.. so if you're a guy buying this, you may catch some crap from your buddies..otherwise, i'm happy with it.

Case look goog bot it was open in the back. Wasn't tape together. I did put it together my sell. Not good quality.

Very pretty but when slightly dropped it already got banged up pretty bad. I'd say don't waste the money.

The wood is a bit unfinished. My boyfriend said he got splinter but he loves it besides that.

Ok case... most importantly i use it and it is ok. Main disapointment is taht the frame is not really metal! It's acceptable but not outstandig quality plastic... and you can see it. The only metal part is the small piuece at the bottom of the back side. The woodwork is ok and it is fairly well made

Really really bad. It is falling apart after less than a week of use.Absolute waste of money.

The wooden back and build quality are very good, but there is a pronounced lip around the front of the screen. If you have a tendency to leave your iPhone lying on the front and have damaged it this way, this may be a good thing, but for me it spoilt the slimness of the case and wasn't very comfy to use when holding the phone and swiping/typing.

amazing feel. gives phone a very classy look. makes the phone a little heavier. but the wooden texture is so different!
