These don't work well, but they'll warm a half cup.

These joulies are pretty large and disperse the coffee that goes in a mug by about a third. I used a ceramic mug (with a lid),that I had put boiling water in first to warm it. I warmed the joulies that I used, as instructed (I had a 12 oz mug and used 3 joulies) and poured hot coffee over this. It stayed warm a little less than an hour. I was hoping to have these for times I go for coffee and I use their cups instead of the paper or styroform cups so I would be able to sit down and enjoy my coffee and that it can stay warm. It just isn't worth it, to me. Maybe someone who commutes and has a metal thermos will find it works well, but for me, to use at home or when I get coffee out, it doesn't cut it.

Bought these as a gift for a coffee lover based on the recommendation of an equipment review from Cook's Illustrated. They are pricey but ABSOLUTELY worth every cent! The stainless steel joulies took our coffee from scald-your-mouth-hot to the perfect sipping temperature instantly and kept our cups of black and creamed coffee hot while we sat and talked and then we tested them again with new fresh pours intentionally leaving them while we cleaned up breakfast...both cups were still perfect after 35 minutes of sitting. Will be buying more for myself and my husband.

I was SO excited about this product. The idea of this product. It just doesn't work. The beans are HUGE so they take up half the liquid space in a mug. Also, your liquid must be extremely hot for them to possibly work. I add a bit of milk to my coffee which lowers the temperature too much for the coffee to stay warm I guess. I followed ALL their advice on how to get them to work and had no success. They suggest you sue them with a thermos. Well, if I wanted to use a thermos I wouldn't need the beans. I really wanted to like this product but I am sadly disappointed. I missed this window to return them through Amazon (as I spent a long time trying to get them to work out) and I will be contacting the company directly to let them know how disappointed I am.

I tried them a couple times before writing my review to be fair. I am a very slow coffee drinker and my coffee is usually cold before i even drink a quarter of my cup. I bought them excited to keep my coffee warm.I tried them in a regular coffee mug first and they did not work at all! Not even a tiny bit. I tried again in a mug but the second time I put them in scalding hot water for a few min first to make sure they were nice and hot before I put them in my coffee and still no difference. My 3rd time I put them in scalding hot water first and then into the joulies Thermos that is suppose to come with the set and they were amazing! I poured my coffee at 7:30am and it was still warm enough to enjoy until 2:30pm until it became Luke warm.So in order for them to work they HAVE TO BE USED WITH A THERMOS. you cannot use them with a container that loses its heat quickly. So if your willing to use a thermos everytime then id say they are well worth the money. Don't expect to just be able to go to starbucks and drop them in and have your coffee stay warm all day. That won't work!With the joulies thermos I got 7 good hours out of them though so I guess I'm pretty happy with them.

My wife and I are huge fans of shark tank and that's why I got these for her this Christmas. They were pricey but looked really cool and I liked the style of the bean and the package they came in. Checking the reviews out I noticed that most people said the item fell short of the many hours of warmth the product promised. I have used the beans for almost a week now and average about a hour of proper drinking temperature before the Coffey starts to lose heat.

Items seem well made and have lasted through multiple cups of coffee, however, they suggest 3 to a cup which makes the cup awkward to hold and thus drink from when getting the last remaining drops.... As for elongating the temperature (heat) of the coffee - we just don't see the effect - maybe we get an extra min or so but it reduces the temperature so much that the average temp (which does not last) is not hot enough.If you can find something that is smaller, less weight, and extend a hot temperature for longer it would be worth it... these are not worth the $70 that I spent

these might be more of a hassle than they are worth. They do a decent job of helping regulate the temp of the beverage, but some of the other claims of amazement might be hyperbole. Recommend you pay close attention to the photo where it sits next to a penny to get a sense for the size of these things, they'll take up some space. I'm not displeased, but as the novelty wore off and washing 5 of them each day along with my mug got tedious, I've cut back on using them.
