John Constantine, Hellblazer Vol. 1: Original Sins

This is where it all began (almost). Jamie Delano's take on John Constantine is gritty, cunning and as definitive as it can be. All the stories are really awesome, and the 2 issue Swamp Thing crossover is also good. Regarding the physical quality, the pages are really better than the other ones that I have, this could be because I received new DC Black Label edition of the book. Delivery was also prompt, and no corner got folded (sigh). Overall, 10/5.

This really is where it all started. The Swamp Thing appearances were just a prelude.Constantine fans and future writers owe Jamie Delano a big debt of gratitude. He laid the foundation of John the anti-hero, the self-described "nasty piece of work" who walks his path alone. Read "A Feast of Friends" (stupidly dumbed down in the TV series. Such a waste of the superb Matt Ryan's talents) to find out why you wouldn't want to walk it with him. "Ghosts in the Machine" reveals how he got another staple, his dose of demon blood. "Waiting for the Man" (again bowdlerised for the TV) introduces Zed.These are good, gritty, unsentimental Constantine stories, enhanced by John Ridgeway's art and fairly decent colouring.A great start to the Hellblazer collection. If you like these you'll definitely want more. JC is addictive!

Ceci est la réédition de 2011 des comics de 1988, d'où le "new edition" parfois apparent, ne pas confondre cependant avec le reboot de 2017 qui porte la mention "Rebirth".Ne soyez donc pas surpris de trouver des dessins à la colorisation "old-school" d'époque en ouvrant le tome, ça n'enlève assurément rien au charme de la série. Cela peu surprendre et la mise en page est à de rares occasions un peu maladroite, mais c'est bien tout ce qu'on peu lui reprocher. C'est sombre, gore, profond avec une bonne dose d'humour noir british, et absent de toute niaiserie gratuite ce qu'on pouvait espérer au vue du sujet. Les histoires sont bien écrites et intéressantes. N'hésitez pas et plongé sans hésitation dans l'univers de John Constantine, c'est un deal que l'on ne peut pas refuser!

Como a Panini é lenta para fazer reimpressões de materiais esgotados, preferi comprar essa versão importada. Não me decepcionei.A capa é cartonada, idêntica a uma capa de mangá, e o papel é brite de alta gramatura. Na minha opinião, é o papel perfeito para publicações que foram originalmente lançadas entre 1981-1993. As cores combinam mais e o cheiro nos traz nostalgia.A leitura é fácil, só é preciso ter cuidado em algumas gírias e expressões. Algumas palavras são escritas do modo em que são faladas. Ex: Luv = Love, An' = And, G'Night = Good night.As histórias são incrivelmente bem escritas, o enredo te prende mesmo. Quer conhecer o John Constantine? Quer ler boas aventuras cheias de horror?
