Classic Family Portraits: Lighting, Posing, and Composition for Location and Studio Paperback – June 10, 2014

The author’s customers are probably pleased with the images but it is a poor tutorial on several levels. Amateur photographers will not have these setups. EVERYONE is smiling—nice but boring. All backgrounds are sharply in focus, sometimes distracting the eye from the subjects. In one case he deliberately lit a room behind the subjects, presumably because the customer wanted to remember it. Obviously, his style is to create a memorial of the subjects but not to create great art.

Traditional classic family poses. It's a little bit cheesy, but if you can get past the dated photos & focus on the technical aspects of the photography & lighting, it's very good.

It's ok, should be a little cheaper due to old fashion pics but great info if you lack posing.

I found a lot of useful tips for arranging people. I think some of the lighting tips are very useful while others are outdated. I can get a lot of similar results using modern high speed flash sync with Nikon flash units. I overall I am glad that I purchased the book. Some techniques will aleays produce good results.

Great for posing ideas and helpful in learning ways to pose so your clients look uniformed.

Alot of useful information even if the overall look of the images were not to my taste,they still illustrated what to look for when setting up group shoots.
