Mosby Merrill's Pocket Guide to Radiography

Very Useful
It is the perfect size to fit in my pocket during clinical’s. Super easy to flip back and refresh myself about a certain projection. The tabs are kind of easy to tear so that is really the only draw back. Would definitely recommend for any Radiology student.

Extremely Useful Guide With Very Flimsy Tabs
I ordered this hard-copy pocket guide to supplement the 3-volume Merrill's Atlas Kindle ebook that I purchased for my Radiology Procedures class. The content in this little spiral-bound book is excellent; it contains all the information and images I need to reference when I'm on campus in a positioning practice lab. (I generally read and reference the ebook when I'm at home.) However, considering the cost of this pocket guide, I wish the publishers had invested in higher-quality materials. As other reviewers have noted, the tabs are quite flimsy (even though the section dividers are made from a heavier-weight paper than the rest of the book); they quickly became bent, rumpled, and in danger of tearing off after just a few trips to campus in my backpack. I finally found a solution that seems to be working well -- I ordered a roll of clear label protectors from Amazon, and folded one over each tab. At 3-1/8" in length, the label protectors are longer than the section divider tabs, so I could have trimmed them down; but I'm keeping them at their full length because it does a better job of reinforcing the tabs/dividers as well as protecting the pages in between from getting rumpled. One other thing I found disappointing is that the positioning images are in black and white. It might seem like an odd complaint, given that the x-ray images are just black and white/grayscale anyway, but I find it much harder to see the collimation borders and central ray entrance point markers when the positioning pics are just shades of gray instead of full color as they are in the regular atlas. So, overall, I'd give this pocket guide an A+ (5 stars) for its content, but only a C (3 stars) for its quality and durability -- which is how I netted out at a 4-star rating.

I love it. Great for a refresher or just reviewing during slow times! I would recommend

Love it, but there are a couple of things...
As others have stated, the tabs will be a bit bent upon arrival. This is due to how they packaged the product in plastic when they were manufactured. I simply straightened them out and used tap to ensure that they are a bit sturdier and won't get ripped off over time.As a rad tech student, I find this guide to be excellent in helping me during my clinicals. Each tab is specific to the region of the body and contains a table of contents for that section which I think is very useful and handy to find something easily.Since there aren't any pictures posted of the physical product, I opened to a random section to display what the contents of the guide look like. Each position in the guide contains very useful information to refer to when it comes to positioning the patient, the part, and the tube on the upper section of the guide, while the bottom section is meant to record techniques. I thought this was a nice feature, as every patient doesn't need the same technique, nor does each machine use the same techniques. All in all, I cannot wait to use this to the fullest during my clinicals. My only issues with it is the tabs do appear to be something that can easily tear off, so ensuring you tape them before going out there seems crucial. The price is also a bit steep. I understand to an extent, but I feel that $56 is about $20 too much when breaking down the actual content and subtracting the technique pages that some may not actually utilize.

Compact and accessible
Works well in clinical hours; had to create my own tabs to make it quicker and easier to locate specific positions for each bone.
