I used these with a hand drill, and managed to make a few rings that were quite nice. Thankfully the ring size of my partner was included.It worked pretty well for me using 1/4 inch thick stock, as well as 1/2 inch stock as well. You got to cut from both sides and I used a hand drill so didn't have it perfectly perpendicular. Still worked well.I'd say if you're trying to make a few rings these are a decent starter set. If you're a serious ring maker, maybe there are higher quality sets available.You're going to have to pay attention to the wood grain and all that when using these as well, since they're basically like spade bits, they don't do a fantastic job of slicing the wood grains. Some of my attempts the ring just broke when drilling it out. Hickory worked well.

Someone gave me a small set of these and I was looking for a bigger variety of sizes. I chose this set because I was familiar with how these worked. I've made over a dozen rings so far and had no issues with this set. I noticed that some have had issues with breaking drill bits, but I've had no problem with this. I make sure I use a stationary drill and work slowly.I've used these for various woods, including wenge and walnut and had no problem. I've also used these for resins and they work well.

This ring kit says for men the big one only makes big enough for my pinky that's in pic .they don't make them any bigger that I found .it does take awhile to sand outside and inside wish the kit would make bigger ones and ones for thicker rings .

Had to buy a drill stand then another drill because my battery one wouldn’t work with stand! Plan to buy a drill press soon! Weather hasn’t been permissive enough to be able to get it all set up so what I tried it wasn’t very easy! I feel like the drill press would be very valuable to use with these!

I personally thought it worked wonderfully. I used a hand drill and got it on the first try. If anything breaks they will replace it free of charge and free shipping.. i spent weeks trying to make a ring without this product and i broke so many rings... got this product and BAM!! Couple hours and finished product..Thank you!!

dont cut all the way thru like it shows you have to flip the wood no matter how thick it is and drill thru the other side one piece broke the first time we used it real let down was really hoping to make alot with this
