This is THE book if you want to start journaling
I read a lot of books. When I embark on a new venture of any kind I do a lot of research. I was SO happy with Writing Down Your Soul when I was looking for guidance to start a journaling practice. This book provides a practical, easy to follow, approach to personal writing in a journal. The author, Janet Conner, provides great, personal, examples and a series of journal prompts (questions) that will last you for years. This book does contain "woo woo" stuff like manifesting and having conversations with "The Voice" who also answers you. Writing Down Your Soul is specifically about writing with intention, purpose, and commitment - I would say this kind of journaling is a form of meditation and prayer. Some of the "woo-woo" ideas can be ignored (I'm not convinced manifesting and getting guidance from "The Voice" are real - but who knows - maybe with more writing it will happen. Overall, I loved this book and refer to it often.

Taking small steps on a long and exciting journey
I purchased the Companion Journal to Writing Down Your Soul by Janet Conner not because I didn't have other journals that I could use, but because I wanted to see if this journal would support me in this new type of writing, which was more soul searching and letter-writing than the type of journaling I had always done. I'm so glad that I bought both the book and the journal. The journal was lovely - a hard cover made it easy and safe to carry it with me, and it had an "extra special" feel to it. I also enjoyed the quotes and excerpts from the actual book and other mystical writing that were scattered through the journal. Very often, it felt like that particular quote was meant just for me. It won't surprise me if it happens to you, too. Magic has a way of working on multiple levels. Great work is created by great habits, and this journal helped me establish the habit of writing in a particular way, which I could then take to my next completely blank journal. I was worried that I would lapse into journaling if I just took a blank notebook to write in right away. I am glad that I followed my instinct and learned the method first before going off on my own. The journal was an integral step in my learning process, and I highly recommend it.

Practical and down-to-earth despite its title...
A really good book to get you writing about what going on in your life and what to do about it...all based on inner guidance. Don't get turned off by the title if you're not a "new age-y" person. Conner has done her work and connects what she presents to actual researcher - Pennebaker, in particular. The book does ramble in some sections and I'm not in love with her overall format which is a little confusing. However, this book is a gem. And...you don't have to be a Christian or a Unity person to derive significant benefit. A great investment in yourself.Another great book in this vein - similar, but not redundantly - is "Step Out of Your Story" by Kim Schneiderman. It requires more work (exhaustive writing exercises) but can really help to unpack dilemmas and conundrums when you find yourself stuck at a crossroads. Both books would be great companions for focused therapy and/or self-exploration.

Awesome!
As a companion for Writing Down Your Soul: How to Activate and Listen to the Extraordinary Voice Within , My Soul Pages gets an excellent! Besides the way the pages are 'put together' with one side having faint lines and the other side mostly blank for special notations, this book is the perfect companion for the processes in Janet Conner's book Writing Down Your Soul.Aside from using it with Writing Down Your Soul (also available in Kindle), My Soul Pages is perfect for deep-soul writing through any aspect of one's life: job transition, relationship transition, life's various transitions ... and we all know they are around every corner ... or for life's milestones where a person might wish to mark each occasion with their thoughts as they live through significant times in their/your life. The construction of the book is such that it could withstand most journal-writing environments and will last as long as you wish it to last. Get several for use in your multi-dimensional life. The sayings and excerpts from Janet's and others' deep-soul writing always seem to be timely as well. A gift from the cosmos to every individual that purchases this book.Enjoy the adventure of My Soul Pages.

The Journal My Soul Has Been Waiting For
I have been writing in a journal every day for many years. I have used many different types of journals, from a basic composition notebook to a leather bound journal. Every time my journal is filled up I go on a quest for a new journal. Not any more. My quest has ended. When I start getting close to the end of My Soul Pages, I will purchase a new one. I can visualize ten, twenty or more filled pages of My Soul Pages sitting on my bookshelf in years to come. I love this book for many reasons. First, the cover absolutely delights me! I love the shades of blue. I love the beautiful pink eyes of the spectacularly beautiful owl. Inside there are blank pages on the left and lined pages on the right. I write what my soul needs to write on the lined pages, and the guidance I receive is recorded on the blank pages. Another reason I love this book is that it is perfectly spattered with quotes, poems, and other guidance that enhances my soul writing experience. I carry this book with me wherever I go. It fits beautifully into my handbag. This is the book my soul has been waiting for.

It's okay, but I won't buy it again.
I love, love, LOVE Writing Down Your Soul and have been journaling the way outlined in the book for about 3 years or so and have received tremendous results with it. One of the things she mentions in the book is to use something cheap so that you're not busy thinking/worrying over the price if you need to write BIG or a LOT. Well, that's exactly what I do now that I've used this journal. The price ($12 or so) is a little steep for what I do in my journaling. I think I'll just stick with my 300 page, spiral bound, college ruled notebook that I pick up for about two bucks. It IS a nice journal, and I would give it as a gift (along with the aforementioned book) to get someone started, but I can't imagine buying one of these for my own use every 2 or 3 weeks.

Welcoming attractive journal
I am delighted with my journal, and the accompanying book. I have been keeping a journal for some time, but this journal is so welcoming and inspirational- it makes the experience of journalling a daily treasured event. The combined process of book and journal have helped me in the discipline of journalling but provided great peace of mind and heart.
