Fantastic Umbrella
Original review Dec '13: It's light, looks nice, is big and repels water. What more could you ask? Doesn't have any rips or problems, and I've had it long enough to get a sense of the long term quality. Love it. If I lose it, I will buy another. Also comes in a cool shipping box.Update Oct '16: It's now been about 3 years since I purchased this umbrella. It's in great shape, except for the things I let happen to it. Once it blew away in a sudden gust of wind and got dragged about 200 feet across a dirt and gravel parking lot, and has a few small tears, however, they don't affect the overall function (they don't really leak) and they haven't ripped further since then, and that was about 8 months ago. I absolutely love this umbrella, and I might buy a second one just to keep in the car permanently. Absolutely love this umbrella.

Nice wide umbrella
I purchased this for the BIG El Niño that was supposed to hit here in California. I also have 3 kids so I wanted the largest umbrella I can get. I carry this in out minivan for the unexpected rain. So far we have used it a couple times and it has held up well. It is large enough to cover the kids in the strollers. I have not had any trouble with the wind, a little wind but not enough to test the "windproof" claim. The umbrella is big at 68 inches and it definitely not one of those compact collapsible ones. For what I need, a wide umbrella that will cover the kids, this fits the bill. It is wide and big. I would recommend it to anyone who need to cover more that one person (or couple kids). As far as quality, it in excellent. Built well. Should last a long time. Still waiting for El Nino....

So glad to have an umbrella again.
I love this, it is good quality especially for the price. It is not a complicated device, you probably could make an umbrella yourself if you had that fabric and some sticks. What makes this umbrella unique is it has a spring near the top so that way when it flips the other way it does not snap. I can actually think of multiple uses for this, you can use it as a way to create airflow in the house. I am going to use it to collect berries. I really do not like manually picking every berry, because it is easy to drop them accidentally. Also there are lots of berries that are too high. This is big enough to do that job. I thought about a mat, but this is even better. Because it will all flow to the middle. Genius!I tested it in high winds and poured a glass of water on it. It past the extremes. I almost feel dumb that I did not think of umbrellas before. You can use this during extreme weather times too.

Good Umbrella For The Price
I have used this umbrella a lot during this rainy spring we've had lately. The umbrella has held well to light as well as heavy rainfalls. It is big. Big enough to cover me and my dog when we go out for walks on rainy days. I thought the insides holding the fabric would be metal but it appears to be plastic type material. Nonetheless, the umbrella has held well during heavy rains. I have not encountered strong winds though so I cannot comment on how long it would last in a strong wind gust. Overall good budget umbrella.

Yes, it turns inside out...but it is wind proof! Here's why!
Okay, so I purchased this umbrella in April 2014 and it's been through the spring, summer, and now fall rain storms. I've never had a problem with it being too windy this year so I didn't really care about the description with it being wind proof. I did read the reviews of people complaining that it's not wind proof because it turns inside out. I've had this happen to previous umbrellas and they are useless after.Halloween night 2014, I was keeping 3 little ones and myself dry (the umbrella is THAT big) going to house to house. Just as I began to move to the next house, a strong gust of wind got under the umbrella and turned it inside out. I cringed and thought "great...now we're walking back in the rain. BUT guess what!? The umbrella is designed to do this! I didn't realize this! Once I put it back down, it went back to it's original shape and none of the rods were broken.I will buy another one in a fun color. I have the black and white one and it's pretty, but I think I want another one with some bold color in it. Maybe Red. Who knows. ^_^Edit: Jan 2015The wind got under the umbrella and once again, it went back to it's original form with no broken parts. I think this is the best umbrella I've purchased.Edit: August 2016Still going strong. We've had a lot of rain this summer. still intact!Edit: April 2017 LOTS of rain this year! The wind overturned it twice this year already, but it always comes back down and is good to go! Still looks new! No holes or anything. I'm very happy with this umbrella!Edit 2019-I still have this umbrella! I haven't had too many flipped up incidents. I did one time on a day I had no business opening an umbrella anyway. It was so windy, but I thought if I kind of tilted it down more like a shield, I'd be OK. Nope. Flipped up. So did others in my office building. The difference is mine came back down while my coworkers dealt with their broken umbrellas. This is turning out to be my best purchase ever!!!!Edit Sept 2023-I know this isn't available anymore, but on the off chance that it does become available, I am still using this umbrella every time it rains! At this point, I might pass it down to future generations!

The best unbrella
I live in Florida and it rains like crazy here. I am over 6' and its hard to find an umbrella that not only keeps my head dry, but also my lower body, that is unless the wind is blowing the rain sideways. Friends have given me a hard time and asked if I had my patio umbrella, but that's okay, because I stay dry. The downside is that if the wind catches it, it pulls hard. My son, who is 6'4" had one that broke in the wind, but he bought a second because he liked it so much. If mine ever breaks I will buy another without hesitation.

ALREADY BROKEN 4 MONTHS IN
we only use this umbrella when we take the dogs out to do their business when it rains. have used maybe 10-15 times at MOST and the locking mechanism that keeps the umbrella open no longer works.

This is the right size for a big guy 68" is the winner
I bought 3 golf umbrellas of different manufactures and size (2x 62" inch and this 68" inch) and this is by far the most superior of the 3 in all respects. This is the perfect size for me and I stand at 6'1, 275lbs with very wide shoulders. I don't feel the need to squish up into a smaller frame to use this umbrella and I have enough room under the canopy where I do not need to favour my left or right side in a downpour.Even coverage all around for a big guy with good build quality. I'll be buying more of these.
