If you love, and are a fan of Mortal Kombat this is one game that definitely should be part of your collection.
I am a 41 year old gamer that really enjoyed this game especially the Konquest mode. When I got the game I decided to create my own profile then immediately started to play the Konquest mode. I was pleasantly surprised how fun it was. The first session I played I couldn't put it down for over 5 hours. Yes that's how very addictive it was. The only reason I stopped playing it was because I realized how late it was, and I needed to get to bed. The storyline in Konquest mode keeps you enthralled, and the fact that you are constantly fighting, finding and unlocking new things along the way makes it very addictive. You can tell the game creators put a lot of thought into this new Konquest mode. Konquest mode is much like MK Shaolin Monks, which makes this game even more valuable, and makes it like getting two awesome games in one. The Arcade game is pretty awesome and has a whole plethora of Mortal Kombat characters. I think 63 in total. There were all the MK characters I could think of plus some characters I have never even heard of before. You can even create your own characters which was really awesome. I think the creators were a little perverted in the Kreate your own character mode though because holy cow you can make some very attractive looking busty females with some very sexy outfits. You have just got to love being able to adjust breast size and all. XD The graphics are pretty awesome for the PS2, and there is lots of blood and gore, which can be turned down if desired. The music, sounds and voices are very awesome, and all your favorites are all there which would make any Mortal Kombat fan giddy. The only problem I had with the Arcade game is that some of your favorite characters controls for moves have been changed, and some are harder to pull off which leaves you vulnerable to your opponent. This is a 3D style fighter like Street Fighter EX or Tekken not the typical 2D Mortal Kombat that has some very fluent controls. It's cool all your favorite characters moves are there it's just when you are playing against the computer on higher levels they almost become useless to use and you are almost better using quick punch and kick combos instead. The controls are also very unforgiving if you press a button too fast especially while doing a midair combo you will find that you might accidently do 3 hits instead of 2 with the same button which might screw up your chaining the combo with another button. And like all Mortal Kombat games the computer gets cheaper past the 3rd or 4th character. You can tell the same MK game engine is still there because the computer does learn from you, and can become very cheap in the next round. If you make one control mistake the computer can become very unforgiving. The Motor Kombat game is an added bonus but leaves much to be desired. Motor Kombat is fun for the most part but can easily annoy you on how cheap the computer can be. You can be ahead in first place and have a huge lead and all of a sudden out of nowhere the computer controlled car takes first from you in seconds. I haven't won a race yet, the computer is that cheap. Motor Kombat is more of an added gag game then an actual extra game so don't be expecting much out of it. Motor Kombat does have a few different tracks you can race around on which is cool, and going over the edge and slamming into walls is pretty funny and gory. All in all MK Armageddon is a must have game if you are a Mortal Kombat fan and still love your PS2, and still support it like I do. With the very addictive Konquest story mode, and the Arcade mode with all your fave characters and then some you really can't go wrong with this awesome game. Pros: Konquest game and story A+ Arcade Game A+ Graphics and Gore A+ Sound and Music A+ Gameplay A- Replay Value A+ Cons: Controls and Changed controls for certain characters moves B- Cheap and unforgiving computer C+ Motor Kombat D+ Tip: Once you complete your profile you will be asked to create a button press code using the d pad and or buttons. make sure you create one that is easy to remember. Once you create your profile you must press L1 then input that button code before you can play Konquest mode or even to create your own character. This annoyed me at first because I didn't understand why it kept telling me to I needed a profile when trying to play Konquest mode even though I had already created one. You also must enter this code after loading your game save. This may seem annoying at first but it is kind of cool when you realize that you can have family and friends create their own profiles as well.

MKA VS PS4 Pro
Mortal Kombat Armageddon offered better 3D screenshots than its two predecessors for PS2, a truly original gameplay engine that allowed the fighter to stop Combo even when he was in the air, since the technical Breakers and Parries could be performed in the air. To all this, MKA added a roster of 62 fighters, including 2 new characters (Taven and Daegon) and 14 characters with new designs (Chamelon, Fujin, Jarek, Kai, Kintaro, Meat, Motaro, Rain, Reiko, Sareena, Sektor, Sheeva, Shinnok and Stryker). They were also featured in the game 34 fighting arenas, Arcade mode, Versus mode, Konquest mode (with 60 Relics), Kreate a Fighter mode, Kreate a Fatality mode and Practice mode. As mentioned above, the battle system is very sophisticated. This includes a Combo Meter system and Combo Breaker system together with an Air Kombat system with which you may hit the opponent while in the air through the Air Combos. There is a Moves List, also available in Practice Mode by pressing Start. Finally in the Krypt there are 288 items, none of which falls into the category of "joke" items. An epic game, ultimately, but Pro gamers and their youtubers challenged the unquestionable quality of this game using as motivation only screenshots of the Online Mode, clearly much lower than the screenshots of Offline modes. Pro gamers and their youtubers attacked without reason all the fighting games with a deep single player gameplay come out for PS2, such as Soul Calibur III, Tekken 4, Street Fighter EX3, KOF NeoWave and, of course, Mortal Kombat Armageddon. Already at that time, Pro gamers and their youtubers were a tool in the hands of the industry of video games, used to require the gamers to use the PAY TO WIN method by which transformed the video game in a form of gambling. If you do not belive me, let me tell you the following story: BEFORE Thanks to the phenomenal sales of the first two generations of PlayStation consoles (PS1 and PS2) created by Mr. Ken Kutaragi, the PlayStation brand could count on 100-200 million owners of massive collections of video games for PlayStation CD. To make the most of this precious advantage, Mr. Ken Kutaragi made PS3 (and its superb Cell processor) completely backward compatible, simply providing it with the PS2 chipset. The costs of this operation were largely sustainable due to the hundred million PS2 sold worldwide. However, Sony had other plans for the PlayStation brand; so Sony chose to impose the Blu-Ray to pick up the PS3 price above 800$. In addition, at the time of the launch of the PS3, Sony did its best to keep hidden as long as possible the complete backward compatibility of PS3. Following Sony removed backwards compatibility of PS3 at the same time that removed Mr. Ken Kutaragi. At this point, Sony was ready to launch PS4 on the market. PS4 was supported by two AMD processors significantly lower than the Cell processor mounted on the PS3; in fact, Cell processor still remains the console processor that ensures more stable framerate to game screenshots for the benefit of the fluidity of the gameplay (The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, Virtua Fighter 5, Soul Calibur IV, Street Fighter IV series, Tekken 6, Mortal Kombat (2011), The King Of Fighters XIII, Soul Calibur V, Street Fighter X Tekken and Tekken Tag Tournament 2 show the value of the Cell processor). The real novelty of the PS4 was the fact that its games were sold under license. This means not only that PS4 video games will have to be re-purchased to be played on the next generation of PlayStation consoles, but also that Sony, in theory, has the power to revoke the license by blocking the installation of video games via the automatic update of the PS4 firmware. NOW According to data from VGChartz, Sony has sold 44 million PS4 consoles worldwide, compared with 87 million units sold worldwide through PS3. This is happened because PS4 is not a PlayStation. Sony has decided not to take account of reality, going back on the market with PS4 Pro, a version of PS4 that allows a higher resolution image than the previous one. Unfortunately for Sony, framerate and fluidity of the images remains lower than PS3. For the rest, the video games are sold under license; consequently, Sony can continue to decide for how long you can make use of video games that you buy. In essence, even PS4 Pro is not a PlayStation. Remains a matter to be explored; why on Day One is sold a Beta instead of the full version of the video game? Because in this way may require the gamers to use Patch, Season Pass and DLC to get them used to play via the PAY TO WIN. PAY TO WIN is similar to gambling; consequently all video games with Online Mode should be prohibited for persons under 18 years. FINAL SCORE: PS4 Pro 0 stars MKA 5 stars.

MK Masterpiece.
One of the most iconic games in history. Back when Midway made games they were killing it. It's a shame they don't make MK games anymore or anything I believe. But this game is truly something spectacular. Already had this game but it was scratched up so I had to buy a new one but this game is worth it. Don't really have to explain anything because whence you ay it it's self explanatory. These new mortal kombat games are too cheesy & predictable. Plus everything's mostly a money gouge with Warner Bros. so the delivery is obviously garbage & characters are very limited until the next bundle comes in with a price on it. But at least I can enjoy this classic masterpiece. Thank you Midway. Rest in peace MK franchise.

Excellent purchase! Trust me! This review is from 2021! ;)
I ordered this not really sure if the video game disc would come to me scratched or with flaws. I have this game, but I wanted to order a new disc because my disc that I've had for years has too many scratches and won't freezes consistently. I looked at some of the reviews for this before making a decision and noticed that some folks complained that when they ordered this, the disc would have scratches or would freeze and stop working, but let me tell you that I just got the video game last night and experienced none of that! When i brought the package in after it was delivered to me, I quickly cut open the bag it was in and opened the video game case and looked at the disc to see what condition it was in, and it had zero scratches!! I then put the disc in my PlayStation 2 and I played it without any problem at all!! The game is exactly like how I remembered it from when it came out many years ago. Great buy!!

Not so good, not so bad
PROS: - Konquest, aside from the very annoying traps and the very linear plot, I'd say that this is the best adventure mode in any fighting game so far because the 3d fighting against multiple opponents is really fun, much better than devil within from tekken, I'd say it's the only aspect in which mortal kombat is superior to Soul Calibur. - The large quantity of fighters available. Of course not all of them are worthy to be included, only for completists. - Two fighting disciplines for each fighter, the 2 are available during the encounter. It's no big deal that in Deception and Deadly alliance 3 disciplines were available, I prefer more fighters with more moves, and I hate the discipline mixing kombos. - The large quantity of moves in each discipline for each fighter. - The crypt is friendlier than before, only one kurrency and the game tells the content of each space before you buy it, so you can decide, you save the time of searching the contents-list on the web. - Motor Kombat, a racing game mode, looks silly; I haven't played it, yet. - You can set the difficulty. If you are a casual gamer, then this is a huge plus, the easy level is really easy. - The blood level is adjustable, this is unimportant to me. CONS: - The Kreate a fighter is a disappointment. Only one custom fighter per profile. - The graphics are mediocre. Especially the hair of the kreate a fighter. - Aside from the alternate costumes, the contents of the krypt are not so good. - The ending for each fighter doesn't even include exclusive artwork, it consists only in the fighter executing a kata and a narrator reading the history, so it is very forgettable. - I think that most of the costumes, even the alternates are the exact same from mk deception and deadly alliance. - Konquest plot, similarly to deception, you play as a new and unknown fighter. It would be much more interesting a konquest history about Scorpion or Kitana or Kenshi or Sektor or Jade or Reptile or Shang Tsung or at least Kira or any of the more popular characters.

"THE 3D MORTAL KOMBAT TRILOGY"
PLAYABILITY:Right out of the games M.K.impresses with a roster of no less than 60 fighters, and 4 are unlockable when you collect a certain amount of relic items in Konquest. If the selection is not to your liking you are free to create your own character with the surprisingly in depth creator. The fighting syles are clever, but not as good as Deception or Deadly Alliance. There's a new "Aerial Kombat" feature which looks a bit out of place and character still seem to be made out of rubber the way they bounce up when hitting the ground. SOUND: The audio is typical Mortal Kombat fare, with over the top screams and loads of gory sound effects. CONTROLS:Same as previous versions of M.K.Some of the environmental hazards like spinning blades sorely test my patience due to the controls not being particularly responsive but overall its ok. GRAPHICS: Not bad but not a step up from past games. The visuals are good, but far from cutting edge and the recycling of characters and animations are obvious. The arenas are nice with plenty of traps, breakables and long drops to send opponents flying. BONUS:Include MOTOR KOMBAT which is a gag take on the mascot karting genre, this a bloody version of "Mario Kart". KREATE a KHARACTER is vast. It's huge, there are a hundreds of options to place upon your created character. Most of the good stuff is locked at first but after a while you'll be able to create some pretty impressive freaks THE BAD: No Individual Fatalities(the biggest downside) No cinematic endings or illustrated scenes, each character just performs a short kata

I've Been Waiting
I've been waiting to get this game a long time. Every time I went to the store it was never their or sold out (when it first came out) I think this is the best Mortal Kombat game ever on ps2 and with surround sound it is incredible. Love the game,Love the online feature/mini games/konquest mode and love love all the characters. (The most characters I've ever seen on a mk game & all of them are outstanding and don't suck) Even though this game my be old now, I would still give it 5 stars. Cause it's one of those games were no matter what year or out dated it may be. It's still incredible and forever be a classic. Now I'm going play it again..Lol
